Rise of the Resistance Boarding Groups - Should only 1 person try to get them for your group?

Hi,

I have a question on Rise of the Resistance boarding groups. Does it hurt your chances of getting a boarding group if 2 or more people in your party try at the same time?

I have heard conflicting information - from good sources. Some have said app can get confused if more than 1 person tries to get a boarding group at the same time. Others have said having multiple people just enhance your chances.

Any insight?

Thanks for you help!

Maybe as a fail safe make sure you all reboot your phones beforehand (turn off and back on). I say this because I know this was an issue with getting 4+ FPs. Disney’s system would get tangled after we were all doing things from different devices in the same MDR account.

👍 Yes. Then all of you try for BG. It’s always fun to see who gets it 😊

Explain it to me like I'm 5 if you need to. In the past, I was the only one who was logged into the MDE app for the FastPass system (this was pre-ROR days). How does this work with multiple people logging into the app. Do we all use the same email and password to log in? Do we all have different accounts and somehow tie each other together?

We plan to all use the same MDE account. Haven’t tried it yet, but that’s the plan.

Yes, everyone signs into your account and makes sure they can see all family members who have a park pass for that day. Everyone tries for a BG, if one gets it the others will get a red box that pops up saying there are none left. Just hit Join Join Join, don’t stop to add members or check off members etc., just hit Join 3 times as fast as you can. My son and I did it this am for practice and he got it, I didn’t.

Agree with PPs that everyone should try. DH and I did this twice back in October. The first time, I got one and he got an error message. The second time, he got one and I got the error message. The guidance I have always read is to have everyone try, and don't use wifi.

It's even helpful to have people back home (that you trust with your MDE account info) to try from home for you. Sometimes the internet there may be faster.

I'm taking a solo trip in a few weeks and plan to have my husband from work, my daughter from school, and my mom from her house all logged into my account trying to get me my boarding group. I have extremely slow fingers. My money's on my daughter!

I think you have to have a park reservation to get a boarding group. I have been practicing a bit and the app stops me when it sees I don't have a park ressie.

Oh, do you? Thanks for letting me know! I read that here on one of these threads and was excited to try it. Oh, well, I guess I'll be solely dependent on my slow fingers.

Sorry for spreading false info!

But now I'm wondering how the app would know that the other people are not me? I have a park reservation, so it seems like anyone should be able to use my MDE to get me a boarding group.

All of this has been covered as nauseum in the sticky on the ROTR thread for SWGE https://www.disboards.com/forums/star-wars-galaxys-edge-info-planning . People from anywhere can log on to your MDE account to try and get you a boarding group. Only the actual people who have a reservation are eligible to Be in A Boarding Group, but anyone can access the MDE App. CM have been using the excuse that multiple log ons can be the issue in not getting into the BG line in the park, but the success rate of all of those who have responded in the thread is overwhelming in that it can only help you. The app will give all of those an error message when one person gets a group. Just understand that it is literally 3 seconds for them all to be gone.

I had a issue with multiple people trying using two linked MDE accounts and ended up getting two different return times having booked separately on the app. Guest Services was able to combine the two return times however they said not to do this and only have one person try to book a return time (also Guest Services did not gladly do this, I had to slightly push for them to combine).

Will it add the other family members if you don’t select them?

As long as all your members are listed in your MDE and as long as they have a park reservation for HS that day then yes. If it doesn’t work that way for you then see the CM at the ride, from what I’ve been told they can fix it for you.

At the risk of sounding paranoid- will it automatically pull in anyone under "My Other Family & Friends?" Or just the "We're Planning Together" people??

I can’t answer that, as I only have myself, DH and DS in there and no others. I don’t even know where to see what you mentioned above, I’m assuming they are people you’ve planned trips with outside of your immediate family on past trips or something? Someone else will know hopefully.
