Good afternoon all,

I just found out that my mom does indeed want to ride RotR!! YAY!! She will be in an ECV for our trip and is concerned that she won't be able to ride it without the use of her ECV. She doesn't plan on bringing her walker.

My question is this, will she have to go through the queue without the aid of her ECV? If so, how long is that line? She has balance issues and cannot walk for long without the use of either her walker or a wheelchair. I saw on Disney's website that she must transfer which is fine, I just need to know how long this would be distance wise.

Thank you so very much bluecruiser! I appreciate your help! Mom will be happy :)

I did experience this in December 2019 and was able to take my wheelchair all the way through the line queue to the ride vehicle. In fact the ride vehicle has a second Door cast members can open to give you more space when boarding and they were very patient with me.

You can take the ECV up to just before the last room, they will ask if you can stand for above 5 minutes and if not, they will "arrange for a transport" for the last room, you can no longer take the ECV all the way up to the ride vehicle, apparently that was causing too many breakdowns. Not entirely sure what arrange for a transport will do, as I could stand for the few minutes. Distance wise, it isn't very far that you would be without the ECV.

I'm guessing they have wheelchairs just for use at that attraction, similar to PotC. The problem with attraction-only wheelchairs is that almost all of them are the extra-wide ones so self-propulsion can be very difficult for those that are more petite. The ones that are standard width tend to not have two working brakes due to old age and are a much bumpier ride because of different tires. I haven't actually seen anything at RotR so maybe they are nice and new and comfortable with options for all sizes of guests (I can dream at least).

Yes, you leave your ECV in a new room before the transport & have to walk/stand for short period. We had two with ECV’s, they did this with no issue (did not use wheelchair) My step dad who uses a cane even left that with his ECV and had no issues. (He has COPD and can only walk very short distances)

Or perhaps they will be like at Star Tours (Disneyland version) where the CM said they could push the person who needed the wheelchair in our party. She volunteered without any of us asking and we didn't ask because another member of our party was able to push, but I thought it was interesting that she volunteered when so many in the boards say they aren't even allowed to push.
