:confused3 Has any one been to Ripley's? Is it worth the time and price? We are trying to thuink of things to do if we get a very rainy day. We have going to the movies as one thing and going to the MCDonalds play place for my youngest dd. How is Ripley's? We have an 8 yr old and 13 yr old dd. Any other ideas for rainy days? We know that we will still do the parks if it's just a light rain but want to be ready if there is a down pour day or more. :umbrella:

I went with my ds about a year ago. I thought it was a waste of time and money. There was a lot of reading involved and my ds is not a reader so we basically finished the place fairly fast. I feel it was too much money.

Agree with Buzz on that one......Can you say tourist trap??????But if you go look at www.ticketmania.com they have all the side trips for a discounted price! :thumbsup2

Haven't been to the one in Orlando but have been to the one in Branson and to me it was one of the biggest waste of $$$ we've ever spent. Just our opinion.

Ripleys is not great. However, we went to Wonderworks a couple of years ago and, although it's along the same lines, there's plenty to do here for kids around the age of yours. Again, it's not fabulous but more worth it than Ripley's. We spent a good 3 or 4 hours in there and could have stayed longer.

if you go even when it's moderately busy, you'll miss half of the items. it's like being in a 2,000 person conga line that keeps moving through the narrow hallways. if you try to stop to read something, people start grumbling. yet another I-Drive trap.

Thanks everyone. We won't go to Ripley's. But does anyone have ideas on what other rainy day things we could do? :umbrella: :confused3

I agree as well, it would really be a waste of your time. Your 13 year old might like it, if he likes to read a lot. We went through it in about 5 minutes. So if you are planning this to take up most of your day, I would go another route. Maybe go shopping at some of the discount Disney stores?

We did this a couple of years ago and it was a big waste of time and money. We also did Titanic Exhibit and did enjoy that. I'm not sure if they are still in Orlando though.

Did the Ripleys, not worth it. Did the Titanic and enjoyed it. Yes, the Titanic is still there. Just did it in Dec..

I got as far as parking the car and turning around to look at the building and then left. It made me sooooo dizzzy just to look at it. Glad i didn't waste my money there. Phew!!!!

We've done Ripley's I agree it's not worth it.

We also did Wonderworks. There's this computer with a camera that takes your picture for a small fee you can alter your appearance on screen and print the image. It's really funny. My husband did this. He looks like an alien. I'm too vain. ;)

Save your money and buy the book! Great stories, pictures and a FRACTION of the cost! My 12 y/o (11 at the time) loved it, but he's into that kind of stuff... my 6y/o (5 at the time) was bored and so was I since I had to find things to entertain the youngest. I think he ate a dozen lollipops just to keep him happy!
We had a hopper pass so one day when it rained we went to the dollar store bought some poncho's and headed out to the Magic Kingdom. The kids LOVED it... they did every ride, no lines. It was great. We are from Maine so the weather didn't bother us... so it was wet. It was still in the 60's and for us that is like Summer!
Enjoy your trip.
Michelle
