Will this thing ever open? Opening Spring 2009, Opening Summer 2009, WHEN WHEN WHEN? Universal will not even release any news on anticipated opening, nada. Brand new coaster and no one can ride it. When I first heard for RRR opening Spring 09 I was thinking great news, will get a new ride when we are there 7/23 - 7/29. Even when announcement changed to Summer 09 I thought surely by late July it would be open. What a disappointment and black eye for Universal to have a new coaster and the summer is quicly passing. Still hoping for it to be open in a little over a week, but not holding my breath.

When we were there yesterday, security told us they are aiming for 3 weeks to open....early August I guess?

He said the problem was with the lift hill...was off a few degrees...had to perfect. He said they have the problem corrected, but it's still in testing stage. We saw it test about everyday...and even at night with all the lights on it on. It was really cool. We were at the other side of CW when we saw the different color lights on the car and by the time we got to that end of CW to videorecord it, it was running tests without the lights....of course!

When I was there last week on Monday they had a crane up next to the lift hill. By Wednesday they were running empty car tests again. I did see where there is a single rider line. Yessssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!1

For some reason I am thinking that the soft opening will start on the 22nd of July and the Grand Opening won't be until the following week.

I can not see this ride not being "ride-ready" by August 1st-2nd weekend.

They decided to postpone the ride until my birthday on August 13th. They knew how much I wanted to be among the first to ride it.

When we were there Friday night they were testing it, it was soooo cool all lit up. DH can't wait to ride, me on the other hand, I have to work up the courage. LOL!

We are here in sunny orlando right now, heading into US this morning. I check this thread every day to see if there's any word that they done testing. Oh well.

We were listening to a local radio station on the way home in the car yesterday. I think it was 96.5 and they were broadcasting live inside US and the dj was talking about the new coaster but he never said when it would open. He said he just couldn't wait to ride the new coaster. Actually, he was a little deceiving because he did not say it wasn't running.

So i will report back with my ride report later today. Wish me luck!
