The ride wasn't open when we went in 2008, i've been watching footage of it and feel sick!!!!

Do you have over shoulder harness? It doesnt look like it on video.

After 12 years of theme parks, I finally plucked up courage last year to do my first "upside-down" and done California Screamin in Disney's California Adventure Park, I really loved it, but scared to go on anything that freaks me out and puts me off forever!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

There are no over the shoulder harnesses because you don't go upside down. The harnesses are similar to those on the Mummy ride. The ride looks a lot scarier than it is.

I will agree to the looks scarier thing, I am super afraid of heights and did not think I would be able to get myself on this one because of the 90 degree lift. I watched the silly thing over and over and had the seconds it takes to the top and over down pat.

Once on the ride, I actually did not have any issue with the height. You can feel that you are at a 90 degree angle but because of the way the ride fits around you I really could not see how high we were. Once I counted the seconds (I was right too) and over we went the ride was pretty amazing! I woudl have loved to ride it again but did not want to wait in the line again...plus when they say don't leave anything in your pockets belive them...you don't want to be hanging out in lost and found

I`m not keen on heights but happily go on all the coasters.

But .......it is the vertical climb that scares me on this ride. We weren`t lucky enough to get on last year, it was either closed or the queue was 4 days long!!

I am going to try this year....hopefully.....I`m going to take Damo`s point and keep repeating it when I`m there ............it looks scarier than it actually is :thumbsup2

The vertical lift no longer bothers me. I still get that "whoa" feeling when it starts, but it's smooth from there on out...
