I hated reading this he was about my favorite character on Raymond. Lately he'd made some appearances on Mind of Mencia too. Really funny man hate to hear it.

I'm so sad. Young Frankenstein is my all-time favorite movie. My DH and I got to be in the studio audience for a taping of an Everybody Loves Raymond episode (during a trip to California to visit Disneyland) that featured Peter Doyle very prominently. He was a genuinely funny man - even off camera - and seemed to be a very nice guy.

He hadn't looked well for quite sometime. You could even notice it during the last couple of seasons of "Raymond."

Anybody remember Joe? He got an Oscar nomination for that. Not a very good film, but he was wonderful. (It was also a very early film for Susan Sarandon.)
I do. That's the role I always associate with him. He was a great actor. Amazing how I remember a small movie like that from 35+ years ago so well because of his great performance.

So sad to hear this. :sad1: In my opinion, he *made* the show ELR.

ITA. I was so sad when I heard this. Everybody Loves Raymond was one of my favorite shows and he was so great on it.

May he rest in peace. He really was a great actor. I liked him. He was quite funny.

The kids are watching Santa Claus 2 right now, and I turn to look at it... there he is... I never even knew he was in that movie.

He was a great actor. What a sad loss. :(

Our family loved when he did "puttin on the ritz". That was one of my favorites scenes ever in a film.

What a funny man. I loved him on "Everybody Loves Raymond".

He was a wonderful actor. Did you know that John Lennon was his best man? His wife Lorraine is great friends with Yoko.

Great actor & great guy... he was friends with a dear friend of mines Dad 'back in the day'... :guilty:

He was the best part of "Everybody Loves Raymond"! It's even funny that he started out as a monk.

Very sad

What a wonderful actor. I cried at work when the news came over the radio.

My favorite "Raymond" memory: when Frank decides to sing "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" at kareoke (sp?) night, and he tells the audience "Thanks very much, ladies and gentlemen. My wife thinks I'm in the bathroom."!!

I will miss him very much.

So sad! My fave on Raymond!! Very funny man!
God Bless!!! :guilty:

My favorite was when they were painting Rays house. Marie opens the door and gets totally sprayed with the paint and he walks by and says "That'll need another coat"! Loved watching him on Everybody Loves Raymond.
