RIP "Ollie" Johnston

OK, he was an animator rather than a photographer. Ollie was the last of Disney's "Nine Old Men." These were the guys that turned Walt's animation dreams into reality back in early days. Ollie created the Seven Dwarfs, Bambi, Thumper, the good fairies from Sleeping Beauty, Mowgli, Baloo, and even the penguin waiters in Mary Poppins. He passed away on Monday.

Of course, he's been retired for years now and the world seems to have moved on to computer animation rather than hand drawings. Still, it's sad to see the last of a great group of artists pass on.

Yes, Ollie was one of the great ones. It is amazing what Walt and these nine created together, timeless works of art.

Ollie will not be missed, through his work he will be remembered forever,
and ever time we see it
it will remind us of him.
