RIP. It was really weird in the 80s. I remember when he did local commercials for Toyota, including one with an MR2, like he could fit on one.

He had a regular daily gig on a local news radio station for decades. Sports was only occasionally discussed except for bocce. He used to bring a team to Steve Marriucci’s annual bocce tournament and would talk about the lead up for weeks. He even got regular questions from a supermarket checkout clerk nicknamed “Charlie the Checker” who asked questions through an on-air guy who typically did the segment with Madden.

Watching Mooch on the air on NFL network last night as the news broke was heartbreaking.
