I didn't know if this had been posted yet, but our dear friend Jamie passed away over the weekend from pancreatic cancer. I found her obituary, if anyone is opposed to posting it here please PM me. I did omit all last names of the family, but I thought it would be nice to post in case anyone knew her or her family personally, or lived close enough to attend the services.

I thought it would be great to share some stories & post some pictures of her, I know I was lucky enough to meet her a few times, and what a dear, genuine lady she was. A true Southern Belle!

I dont have any words to express this lose. I have met and had experienced WDW with Jamie a couple of times... Riding the TOT a couple of times, Dining at Boma, dining at the Bakery... and a few times that no official met was planned but had agreed to see each other in passing for a quick hug or hello. I will truly miss Jamie. We had stalked each others FB esp'ly with pictures posted. She is one of the disers I have come across and truly became a friend online and offline. I will truly miss you Jamie :littleangel:

I too have met Jamie on several occasions... she was a wonderful person with whom I shared some great WDW experiences. I am truly saddened to hear of her passing and will always cherish the times we had shared at WDW.
I wish her family heartfelt sympathy and understanding thoughts in this time of sadness.

May you rest in peace Jamie.

Here's a pic of Princess Always, Jamie & myself back from December 2008 - it had just rained & we were all fretting that our hair looked a wreck!

Tara thank you for starting this thread!

I met Jamie in person a few years ago, and liked her immediately! She and my Mom sat next to each other at a Boma meet once, and they really seemed to hit it off.

It was great meeting a solo traveler who was having a FABULOUS time at her OWN pace. And she loved her freedom to travel whenever she wanted. I told her that I wanted to BE her!

She will truly be missed by me!

Antss.....LOVELY picture of Jamie having a blast!

Glendamx - I saw your story on FB about how you remember that Jamie had laminated cards with her itinerary on them - that's so funny!

The only funny I can think of with Jamie is that one night I was at MVMCP & I saw her & RedBudLover over near Splash Mountain. I was calling "Jamie! Jamie!!" over & over & she didn't look my way. Finally I yelled "JAMSTEW!" and she whipped her head around to see who it was!

Good times!!! It was such a pleasure to meet her, and what good conversation we had!!! She will truly be missed.

That was the best night of our trip, and my husband and I still talk about it.

you will always be in our hearts Jamie...

supposed to be listening to the lecture...but mind is racing from all different directions...

so sad that a friend from Dis was lay to rest today...Jamstew.

and at the same time so excited and looking forward for what tomorrow brings... :littleangel:

I had come across Jamie here on the singles thread... she had witness my clumsiness for the last 3-4 years...

had enjoyed MK 1st thing in the morning... with adrs for CP... we ran infront of the castle to have a "morning glory" Picture... I fell flat on my face... and she was laughing so hard. I look at her and asked... ar eyou going to help me get up... instead she took pictures of me on the ground and stated "Duck that is your morning glory picture" :p

we rode TOT, RNR and Everest with all our might!!! everytime I plan a trip or she plan a trip if we are not together she would text me when she is on a ride and says she is not having fun since that ride was for Me so she is going for a next round... and I would do the same thing...

She was at BWV when she had an ECV and really was bothered using it bec. she hates peeps thinking she is using it as an excuse... I told her... use it and use a BDAY tag with my name on it, so they will not know its really Jamie...

Fun memories... Saw Beauty and the Beast after a TOT ride... and was disecting how Gaston looks really funny with his muscle outfit...

Dec. 2009... I was running late and she know I was upset... I went to hug her and told me dont even worry about being late... its your vacation and I made sure you did not have the kitchen with you LOL...

So many memories... but it feels like it is not enough... I will truly miss you Jamie...

Dear Disboard friends of Jamstew,
I cannot thank you enough for the memories shared here. My mother truly lived for WDW these last few years and loved every minute of her time there. It may be hard for you to believe, but she was an introvert at home. She rarely got out to do anything but to spend time with her grandchildren. In fact, the only local friend she had in the last 6 years was one whom she met through this very board. I'm just so thankful that you all were part of her life. Your friendship truly filled her with joy. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sincerely,
Her Son

I hadn't met Jamie in person but had 'talked' via the dis (we'd arranged to meet in May but she was unwell and had to leave early), I just want to send my sincere condolencies to all her friends and family.

RIP Jamie, you are in a far better place now. :flower2:

Oh, I just saw this and am so saddened. Jamie, you will be missed so much. It seemed like almost every time I planned a trip she was down there too and we'd meet up. The last time I spoke to her was in May, just before she had to go home ill. I didn't know she had cancer though. She always told me about her family that lived in East Texas and how she came down I20 right past Terrell when she went to see them. She always said she was going to call me and we'd meet up for a meal when she came through, but it seems like we were never able to schedule it. I sure wish we had. She was so sweet and fun loving. My sympathy is with her family in this time of grief.

DFD - your post made me laugh, cry & smile all at the same time! I wish I could see the pictures she took of you after you fell!!

To her son - thank you for taking the time to read this. We all loved your mother & shared her love of Disney. I'm sure we will all think of her & carry our happy memories of her with us on our future trips.

Ms. Jamie will definitely be missed. :sad1:

Always a familiar soul, though I never had the pleasure to meet her. My deepest prayers to her family and thank you to her son for finding the time to share comfort with us:hug:

Aw what sad news. :sad1: I was privileged enough to help Jamie celebrate her birthday last December when we had a DIS Meet at Boma. She will be missed in the DIS community.

My condolences to everyone, especially her family.

Just wanted to bump this up again. I thought of Jamie over the holidays, and thought how sad her family must be without her there. But I'm sure she's smiling down on everyone!

:grouphug: It never ceases to amaze me how DISers touch one another lives...all thanks to a Mouse who brings us together for enchantment and joy.

You touched many, dear Jamie, and I've no doubt you are watching from heaven.:littleangel:

That is so typical of Jamie. Wide joyous smile. Hands thrown in the air. Enjoying herself to the max. She taught me how to ride the TOT without being afraid....
