RIP Eddie Money

Oh no! totally listen to him growing up. I actually have a funny story about his name. I used to work at a music store and this mentally handicapped person, I assume mild down syndrome with speech issues , came up to me at the register and said do you have any money? I didn’t know how to respond without offending him so I was being really nice saying no I don’t, maybe ask your mom for more money, assuming he didn’t have enough money for the album that he wanted. We went back-and-forth for about five minutes on this and he was getting frustrated and then it hit me the poor guy was actually saying: “ do you have any Eddie Money.”

Today whenever I hear one of his songs I just remember that situation; I’ll never forget that moment.

So odd....I had a dream about him last night. We were talking about esophageal cancer (my step dad had it), his diagnosis, prognosis and how my step-dad is now in remission. So crazy!

I remember the first time I saw him on SNL (was March of '78 [googled it] and I was 14.) - loved him instantly and bought his first album as soon as I could. R.I.P. :sad1:

He had many great songs - one of the cornerstones of the soundtrack to the 80's! RIP, Eddie.

Oh no. I had started watching his reality show but kind of lost interest.

RIP Eddie

Growing up, my Dad was nice enough to share the radio with me when he would drive me to school and practices. It would be back and forth between his oldies and my top 40 pop station. Eddie Money was one of the few artists we both liked. I hear "Take Me Home Tonight" and go back in time to sitting in our Cutlass Supreme with my dad. Thanks, Eddie Money for the great memory. RIP
