RIP bozo the Clown

Looks like he was the smartest clown ever, as well. Buying the rights to BOZO and franchising them.

I grew up watching bozo circus in chicago.

Someone needed to warn me before I opened that link. I jumped when I saw this:

I don't like clowns....small pics are okay, in your faces ones...NO!

Aww...I'll eat a Bunn candy bar in his honor...that is, unless, someone wants to send me a brand...new...FIFTY DOLLAR BILL!

I never knew there was more than one bozo until I read that article! I was on the Bozo show in Detoit when I was in first grade (1970!) and was chosen out of a hat to try to win the treasure chest. It's very vague, but Belinda comes to mind - was I the Belinda for the day, or did Belinda pick me? Anyway, my task was really hard; I had to bounce ping pong balls into a hoola hoop lying flat on the ground and have them not bounce out of the hoop. Needless to say, I didn't win the treasure chest. I still remember Bozo trying to help me throw them so they wouldn't bounce out, but I just couldn't do it. Maybe not the same Bozo, but this still brings back memories!

Aww. Rest in peace, Bozo.

I used to love watching him every day. I wanted to play the pingpong ball / bucket game so bad. :(

Im glad he out lived Mr GreenJeans

I grew up watching him, too. Everyday after school along with the Hobo Kelly Show. Here is So Cal they were the best shows on. Unless it was Saturday, and then it was Wonderama!:)

May he RIP.

I loved Bozo the clown as a kid! Wonderama was pretty great too! Mr Green Jeans I dont remember as much he was with Capt Kangaroo right?

This was one of my favorites!

Me too! I always thought Bozo in Detroit was the only one! My friend was on his show and she came home with a bag of hot dog buns!

Bozo was SO much better than Milky the Clown...from Twin Pines Dairy-remember him? His trick was to let the winning kid grab a handful of pennies from a jar. But once the kid had his fist around a big bunch of pennies, he couldn't fit his fist back out of the jar. So he had to let a bunch of them go, that always ticked me off to no end. Milky was lame.

bozo, bozo, always laughs, never frowns.....

remember watching the bozo show on TV as a child

was sooooo jealous to see those lucky two kids get all those "bozo" toys!

My Girl Scout troop was in the audience many moons ago but we were in Chicago, I didn't realize they taped in Detroit too.

remembers the G R A N D P R I Z E G A M E and the nice prizes and possible bike the kids got! RIP BOZO
