Ring through security

I'm in a somewhat similar situation, but this time I'm proposing for the 2nd time for our 25th Anniversary (May). Longstanding memory that my wife brings up from time to time is that I never got down on 1 knee to propose, so looking to remedy that this time around.

I bought my wife some upgraded rings and have worries about getting them through the airport security, bag checks, etc. at the airport, not to mention having them hidden in my luggage for 7 days while at Disney before I pop the question again. I figure I'll just pack them in my carry-on while flying and this should be Ok and will have to be creative to hide them while we are checked in at the resort.

Plans are for a quiet spot in EPCOT just after dinner @ Chefs de France or after the fireworks when the park is emptying and hoping to have a Disney photographer arranged beforehand to capture the moments.

My fiance proposed to me at MK when they were doing metal detectors. He had it in the ring box in hi bag and it didn't go off.

I've recently had a daith piercing (for migraines). Will this set off the detectors? I'm not sure what it's made of. I think surgical steel.

Congratulations!!! You should be fine. Was there a couple weeks ago and went through metal detectors with my ring on and not issue. I hope that you can plan on having a photo pass person capture the moment. Not sure how that could work out, but maybe even slipping them a note. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Nope, it shouldn't set off the detectors. I went through the detectors all week last week with my tragus and helix piercings and it was all good.

Always Always Always put valuables in your carry on. The last thing you want to happen is your bag gets lost or the ring goes missing. Remember your bag goes through many hands before it gets back to you and no telling how many could have a chance to go through it.

My fiance got mine through airport and cruise security with out me realizing.

They make you empty your pockets when you go through the metal detectors. I would put it in a backpack. They don't make you empty those. Once in the park you can go to the restroom and transfer it back to your pocket. Congrats.

I have a small coin pouch that I will have in my carry-on and the rings will be inside of a velvet pouch inside that. That should get me through trouble-free !
