Ring Bearer Pillow Alternative?

Ok, so, we're having a ring bearer and a flower girl, and the RB will not be holding our actual rings. I really do not like the idea of a frilly pillow (I attribute that to my mom who made me carry a rediculously over-frilly pillow for her wedding), so at first I thought he would not carry anything and just be an "escort" for the FG. But then I was thinking, maybe he could carry something else? But the only idea I've been able to come up with is having him carry a sign that says something like "Here Comes The Bride" (professionally done, of course). I thought it sounded cute, but I told my mom about it and she cringed and did not like it. I know I know, it's my wedding, my rules, I can do what I want, blah blah blah. I need opinions, help!
Any other ideas? TIA! :goodvibes

Hmmm... what about a pinwheel or his favorite stuffed animal? Too cutesy? :confused3

Along the same lines as Carrie's cutesy suggestions :thumbsup2, what about having him wear those big stuffed Mickey gloves? My nephew had a pair when he was 6 and they were his favorite things on earth for a long time!

Thanks for the ideas...DF came home and said he did not like the idea of the sign, so that's out. I thought about a balloon(s)...but...it just doesn't really fit with our theme. :confused3 I dunno, I guess for now we'll just have him still escort the FG, and he can like, hold his arm out for her to put her arm through or something.

I'm having my ring bearer carry a glass slipper. I have a bit of a fairy tale theme going, so I don't know what your theme is... but just throwing another idea out there :)

I really like the glass slipper idea since you are having a Disney wedding! Of course a glass slipper should would look great on a pillow like in the movie.

Other ideas:
You could have him hold some type of fun "ring box". Groom Mickey made a really great "mickey" box on this thread:

Lots of brides don't have the actual rings on the "ring pillow". Most of them are just for show, so you don't have to have the rings in or on something.

Or you could have him carry something that could be placed on the altar (like a rose or roses in memory of family members that have passed on or couldn't be at the wedding), or something that will be used during the ceremony.

He could walk in holding the flower girls hand and not hold anything.

Oohh I agree with you girls. I love the etsy design AND I actually really like the mickey mouse hands too! :)

Hmmm...I am starting to lean to the glass slipper thing since we are doing the fairy tale theme. Not sure yet, still have 6 months to go, but I will run this by DF when he gets home.

We are going with a ring "bear" for our ring bearer. We are going to buy a Duffy bear and I am bringing ribbons and a small floral arrangement to attach to him. Our son will carry him, and our rings will be on him, attached to some of the ribbons :)
I love the Disney theme

I think I am buying a large glass slipper from DTD, and having it engraved. I went to Arribbas brothers last week, but they were out, so I am trying to go back another time. I know that they also have them on Main Street.

I'm attempting to have it double as my cake topper, but I am not sure whether or not it is going to be too heavy for the top of the cake (it is a pretty solid piece of glass - which is good because I do not think it would shatter if my ring bearer accidentally dropped it).

Oh - and I love the Duffy bear idea - that is so cute!

I absolutely love this idea!! :goodvibes

I just want to echo checking out Etsy. We used a "pumpkin" for our ring pillow. I'm hopeless at posting pics, but the Etsy pumpkin maker was SeaPink. She made it in our VR colors and the ring was put over the stem. Along these same lines; I crocheted and knit "pumpkins" in our VR colors to add to the fairytale decor. Just another idea!
