Right or wrong ???

My wife and I are not big thrill rides fan. Though, I am so happy to come next August. But my wife says WDW doesn't worth to fly over the ocean if we don't like these rides. So, what do you think ? Is she right or wrong ?
I am quite sure of what you gonna say but I will make her read your replies in order to convince her... at last !!!

Disney has very few real thrill rides-and even those are suitable for most of the family. There is so much more to Disney than the rides. There are wonderful shows and other attraction, some wonderful (And not so wonderful) dining and most of all, the chance to forget about the outside world for a while and soak up a wonderful innocent atmosphere. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.

It's such an amazing place to visit whether or not you like rides. There's so much to do both in and out of the theme parks.

I do very little in the way of thrill rides and I LOVE WDW! It is worth a flight twice around the world to me....I think you know my answer!!! GO FOR IT, it is a trip that you will NEVER forget and most definitely never regret!

Wrong. My 15 y/o HATES the fact there isnt enough thrill rides, what-so-ever, at all!!!

No, Disneyworld is WAY more than Thrill Rides. If you ask my son, he'd say it's nothing about Thrill Rides.

I agree with above poster as Disney doesnt have many thrill rides.. Its about so much more.. I think if someone was only going for the thrill rides they would be disappointed because there are so few.. Its about Magic and believing.. and so much more..

We have been to various Disneyland parks, Universal, Sea world etc etc over the years and my DW to my knowledge has never been on a 'thrill ride' and loves Disney,there is much more to it than that. I see you are French (I am English), have you been to DLP and walked down main street? that to me is much more what Disney is about than any roller coaster.

I agree with the other posters. There are so many more things to Disney World than just the thrill rides. There are rides that explain the history of American movies, dinosaurs, American Presidents (show), etc. You can also pay for and take several fun tours, one that shows you the utilidors where everything happens from costume prep to ride controls. Another showing you the historic steam trains.

Want to only do the shows? No problem! Don't forget the food! Wow there are so many nice restaurants over the Disney property.

You should go at least once. Then if you don't like it, don't go back. But how can you make an accurate decision if you don't first try it?

Truly, each park only has about two or three real thrill rides. The rest of it is pleasant rides, educational, shows, great food, great sights.

I've been there only once but I have to admit you're absolutely right. I had such a great time in DLP but I guess it's going to be greater in WDW. So much bigger and even more magical as I can imagine it. And I love travelling in USA... so if you add travel in Florida + Disney magic, it can't be less than wonderful !!

I've never ridden Space Mountain, Mission Space, Rock n Rollercoaster or Tower of Terror and we make it a point to go down to Disney atleast once a year {twice, if I can talk him into a second trip for just the 2 of us!}. There's so much mor to do at Disney than just the thrill rides. My 2 teenagers would probably say that there's not enough of them!

I'm with your wife. I hate thrill rides. Having said that, there is only 1 ride at Disney that I have never ridden, Rock-n-Roller Rollercoaster. There are also very few rides that my 3 year old daughter cannot ride. Disney isn't about the thrill rides. It is about the magic. While people may have reasons for not wanting to go to Disney (I can't think of any, but I'm sure some people could), too many thrill rides is definitely not one of them. Hope you get your trip.

i have been to disney in Paris and Florida.You can't imagine how much more exciting Florida is.The characters are easier to meet as they don't get mobbed by people,the parades and shows are spectacular...and all that fantastic sunshine
I do love disneyland Paris,but you can easily do it in a day.Florida disney would take you forever to see and do everything.Also lets not forget all the shopping and universal studios,sea world...i could go on

I'm not a big thrill ride person either. But, having said that..I have ridden all the rides at WDW. Now, the one I really don't care for is Tower of Terror. But, that's the only one. It's those drops that kill me. I love RnRC...go figure. I would most certainly fly over...just avoid these attractions...

But WDW is so much more than 'thrill' rides. Come on over and enjoy the parks for the theming, the shows!!

My mom who just turned 50 hates thrill rides but loves Disney most of the rides are slow moving through different scenes. Only ones you might consider thrill rides are TOT, Rock n Roller Coaster, Mission Space, Test Track,
Space MountAIN and Expedition Everest and Dinosoar. Go on all the rest though. I love all those rides mentioned, and I always try to persuede people to try them at least once and if it's too much don't go on again. After all it's not like your on the ride for more than of couple minutes. I really think you may be able to handle TOT and Test Track. Tower of Terror is so cool to see, many neat special effects and yes it does drop, but when you are in the dark it is not nearly as scary as being able to look down like some dropping rides. My in laws ride it all the time ealy 60s and love it. And test track is very fun too, just to see it and the effects. The only fast part is at the end, and it's like speeding in your car with the top down. Truly I think all thrill rides at Disney are just different because you are so distracted by the scenery and effects unlike other amusement parks where there is nothing to occupy you your just nervous the whole time. I say go for it all the way or at least go and don't go on the above rides if you really can't handle it. So many great shows, 3d shows and slow moving rides. Also all the nighttime shows are worth it all by themselves.

On our last WDW trip we went to US/IOA. The rides were insane. I would definately spend a day or two there. My husband said that the Hulk ride was the scariest ride that he has ever been on. He also loved the Mummy ride. WDW has a couple thrill rides at each park. I would mix the two parks. I saw a show on amusement parks and US/IOA ranked high in many areas.

I agree with everybody else! Disney is not a thrill ride place, and the rides are more for the family. I do not like thrill rides either, but I love Disney.

wooo, when i first read the title i thought this was another moral issue thread what a relief..

any way husband hate thrill rides, they make him sick but he loves WDW. it's the only park we go to ( and we live about an hr away from a big roller coaster one we haven't been to in over 10 yrs)

there are a couple thrill rides but even those are on the tame side. the only ones that make hubby sick are mission space and the teacups( not exactly a thrill ride )) ifyou've never been to wdw it's a wonderful place, not just for kids but adults too. the details of the different lands etc are great. it's much more than just a bunch of rides.
