Right or wrong ???

I am the official bag/jacket/camera/soda holding bench sitter when my family goes to Disney. Even the merry-go-round makes me nauseous. We have been to WDW 5 times and it is always me who misses it the most and initiates the thought process to go again. I LOVE THE PARKS. The ambience is everything. In 2004 we took my sister/husband and 2 kids and we all are going back in December of this year. I agree with the other posts of people who love the shows (unlike anywhere else) the theming, and of course the food. Epcot is a "thrill" as well as Animal Kingdom without really riding anything! Good luck convincing -it's all worth it!

Thierry,

What specific things does your wife like? WDW has something for everyone. I, too, hate thrill rides. Mission Space made me soooo sick, and I have never done Tower of Terror since I hate stomach drops. Nearly everything else is engineered well enough so they do not make you sick. I have only learned this in the last few years, having had to ride every other ride with my kids, rides I had avoided trying for years. I have to do Test Track many times each visit, and I love it. But there are so many other things that have little to do with terror rides. Films (France's is especially lovely), performances, food to die for. Fireworks, parades, gardens, bands, singers, craftspeople, comedians, mimes, spas. And again, food. Try Brown Derby, Jiko, California Grill, Citricos. While we do not do five stars in France, I think the food compares favorably to some of the best we have had in France.

WDW is vast compared to DLP. Just being in a place more tropical makes it quite a treat. But if you have a choice go at the END of August. It will be hot, hot, hot but much less crowded. Plus a great chance to try the water parks, which I do not think France has ANYTHING the like.

I used to like all Thrill rides I can't ride them anymore because of motion sickness, and the older I get the less adventureous I am.

I love WDW. There is always something to do besides Thrill rides. Your wife should not make a decision to go based on Thrill rides only.

If you decide to make the trip and want to make it even more special, I suggest you stay at one of the resorts on WDW property if at all possible (however it can get very expensive). It's only my opinion, but I think that adds to the magic.

WDW is a great place to visit at any age. There are so many things to do other than the rides. I love that you can have a very busy day at the parks or a relaxing day at one of the waterparks. I've heard the spa at the Grand Floridian is really nice. It's amazing how you feel like a kid again while you're there. I'm sure if you can convince her to go she will have a great vacation.

Thanks everybody for your support...
I have talked to my wife yesterday evening and she finally told me it was a matter of money !! She doesn't like to spend money (I don't know the word in english to qualify this attitude but you know what I mean). This travel is only $4500 (for a party of 4) including flight from France, car rented during 9 days, 8 nights at All-Star Sports with park hopper option and water parks and... the free dining package !!!! According my thought, it's just the greatest deal ever !! And we can afford to do it... I hope everything will gonna be all right... Have a great day everybody and take care...

She is "cheap" or "stingy" or simply full of financial common sense! We Americans can come up with bunches of terms, both complimentary and not so...:lmao:

But really, that is a great price. Airfare! Wow! The free food is such a perk. That is enough food to keep you going all day. Try any of the Character Breakfast buffets and you will see why so many DISers are less than svelte. If two of you are kids, even the kids portions can be huge. I would splurge at least once or twice on using two credits for some of the premium restaurants, though.
