Right On Kathy and Kevin!!!

I finally listened to the podcast today and totally agree. I don't think it's just true for Disney. The most magical times in life are those unscripted moments with a little pixie dust thrown in.
There is no doubt that a little planning is necessary in life. If you don't go to work, get your kids to school, pay your bills, etc., it's hard to be able to enjoy any magic that comes your way. The same goes for a Disney trip. If you think you can show up during free dining at 6:30pm at Le Cellier and get a seat for your family of 5, you're bound to be disappointed. A little planning combined with a little flexibility go a long way. For most of us, our happiest memories at Disney (or life!) are things you could never anticipate. That's what made them magical - they were unexpected!
Disney is a special place that allows magical things to happen. That's why I start planning my next vacation as soon as I get home! But magic can only happen if your heart and soul are open to it.
Like some many have said, just walking down Main Street is enough to put tears in my eyes. And August will be our 5th trip in 3 years. I am SO lucky to be able to share the magic of Disney with my DH and children! If I ever lose that sense of joy and wonder, it's time to find a new vacation spot...

I absolutely agree with what others have said, although I don't think the "entitled" attitude necessarily comes from the availability of information. In our many trips, there have been many special "extra" experiences that made us feel special and added an element of magic and surprise to our vacations. Some were small, and some were more substantial, but we don't ever go expecting or looking for those extras. Some I haven't even shared on these boards because I wouldn't want someone to go demanding the same thing. When I look at everything there is to be experienced just by visiting one of the parks for a day or staying in one of the Disney resorts, I am still amazed at all they offer, and I still haven't nearly done it all. The extras are just that - extras, to be appreciated when they occur, but not to be expected or demanded. I've seen some very unreasonable and demanding people in the resorts and in the parks, and I hope they don't ruin it for the rest of us!
