Right Now in Central Florida!!

Imagine my surprise when I was outside a few minutes ago, looked up and saw this looking down at me. These photos were taken right outside my front door!

That's an Osprey and he's been out there for about 45 minutes just sitting and watching the people go by.

Florida is wicked cool!!!

I saw a bald eagle the other day. Incredible.

I've seen more wonderful birds here in Florida in the past ten years than I did my entire life (living in other states and countries).

He's beautiful - are all the neighborhood kitties accounted for.

I must say one of the things we really enjoy while in FL. is the huge variety of birds, they are so pretty and there are so many!

I love osprey! I used to sit outside my place in Maine and watch them on the tops of the old quarry poles there. They are so cool! Beautiful pics.

Great pictures! I had one swoop down toward me a couple of weeks ago when I was walking. He really wasn't after me. He picked up a mouse and took off, but he scared me for a minute. Not that he could have picked me up!!!! That would take a pterodactyl!

Your story reminded me of one day driving in, and saw one swoop down behind Yacht/Beach service entrance, and fly away with a RAT from dumpster area. Really surprised me how easily was taking off... way strong.

At Tibet-Butler preserve, saw one once flying by with a big old snake up to nest to feed to offspring. VERY cool birds, for sure.
