Oranges and other citrus fruits have been harvested for several weeks now but they've just gotten to the grove across the street from us.
The truck is loaded by the workers who pick the fruit by hand. After seeing how hard their job is, I will never take a glass of orange juice for granted again.
First the large bucket that is attached to this truck in emptied into a trailer.
Then the bin on the back of the truck is raised and emptied in too.
Once all the fruit is in the large trailer, the whole procedure starts over again. From empty to a full load in the small truck takes about 15 minutes. Once the trailer is full it will be hitched to a truck and taken to one of the processing plants here in town.
When the oranges are dumped out of the truck, the smell of Horizons and Soarin fills the air.
