Is it possible? Do you think as a solo rider I'd feel weird if I had to compete with a total stranger? Is this the best attraction for a solo meetup?

I don't do WDW solo, but this is the only ride I actually ride alone. DH isn't a fan, but we get a FP for him anyway and I use it after taking the kiddo. I have never been paired up with anyone else and end up with no one beside me every time. I think it would be so much fun to compete against someone I didn't know though! Have fun! :goodvibes

Lol! I've done it solo back when there was the single rider line just cuz we didnt want to wait. It's not really any different than going on a roller coaster and screaming with a total stranger! Well other than you can acidentally shoot them if you are a spaz like me. Other than that, are you asking if it is the best place to meet another solo traveler? Probably a little bit different than meeting them on Tower of Terror. hehehe~

They won't sit a stranger next to you in single car rides (like Haunted Mansion, etc.). Unless you meet up with someone who wants to sit next to you, its not a good ride to meet people since they'd be behind you the whole time.

I personally have more fun competing with someone I know, but that's because I'm usually competing with the same friend I play video games with. :rotfl:

Have gone solo a few dozen times since moving down here. I have been seated alone, next to a child and another adult. Had fun every time. Do not worry about anything. Most visiting are so absorbed in the Disney experience they pay little attention to you or anyone else. Have a great trip and enjoy the ride :thumbsup2

I've done it many times solo, and I don't have a problem with it. Everybody is always so nice, so just go for it! :)

I've never ridden it any other way except solo, and I've ridden it about 10 times. They've never put anyone else in my car. It would be fun to do it with someone you'd just met up with.

I have done it solo....matter of fact a lot of the rides solo ... and I love it :) It will give you the challenge to beat your best :)

I did it solo in January and rode alone....the CMs appeared surprised when I mentioned I would ride with someone else as I was a single rider.:confused3

Unless there's a single rider line, they won't typically put you with anyone else on a 2 rider attraction.

I actually prefer it alone because I can be as reckless as I want and not bash someone with my elbow or something.

Also, you're competing with everyone else in your car and the other car you're towed with, not just a partner next to you. At least this is the case at DCA. You won't see their scores, but they flash the train's high score on the wall at the end.

It depends on the CM if another guest will be placed in your car. I've ridden alone, and I've also ridden with another guest

The few times I've gone on it solo, no one was with me. I don't think they pair you up with anyone.

Except when I went to a private event, then I was matched up with a stranger, but it was fun.

Have fun!

I try not to look down at the scoreboard because that takes time away from shooting and also I lose coordination and aim.

I've only been on it once and I was solo, but I did get paired up with someone who I didn't know. It wasn't a bad experience. They may have done it because the line was listed at 70 minutes when I joined it. By the time I got to the door into the building, it was showing a 100 minute wait. It may depend on the time of day and the CM loading people at the gate.

When I rode solo, I was put in a car with a grandma who had never done it before. (She told me she was there with her grandkids who were riding together.)

I showed her how it worked and we had fun. We didn't really compete against each other. I know I was trying to beat my previous score - which I didn't. :rotfl:

Another time, I was seated by myself.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'm getting pumped for my trip. Only 5 weeks away! Now I have to make a big decision. Electric Light Parade or Fantasmic. Curse the schedule!

I also have been paired with someone and put in a car by myself. When I'm paired up, I've gotten hints from the other player on how to better my scores. (which I can use!!) I would rather be paired up, because that means that they have asked in the line for singles so I get on sooner.

Same here! My first time, I was with a young teen, who gallantly explained how everything worked. Another time, there was a family of five in front of me and the father "adopted" me to ride with him. It was the family's first time, so I explained how it all worked and then seriously kicked their butts. :rotfl: As a solo rider, I usually compete against my prior high scores and my brother, who is a solo rider in DCA (I'm usually in WDW). I am currently in the lead with just under 180,000. :cool1:
