So if I RSR at rope drop and then want to get a FastPass fir RSR, do I still go over to carthay Circle to get in line? Will it be obvious where the line forms?

Spring for MaxPass (MP)$10/person/day and you can book a FP from anywhere once your ticket is scanned in for the day.
You can book a MP FP while you're in line at RSR.

It is nice to be able to book DCA FP's while in Disneyland and vice/versa.
Not to mention for the hotel during break time

We have been to Disneyworld and it is great to ve able to reserve your fast passes online. But in Disney World it is free. We have five children. So we would be $70 a day for us to be able to do Max pass. I feel like that is horrible, when we are already paying so much to go to the parks. We have saved for this trip, and I have been really excited. It seems like Disney is just getting greedier and greedier. So, while the old kids ride the rides, I will be running around with little kids, like a chicken with my head cut off, to get these fast passes for them.

I agree that the price tag adds up for bigger families. Maybe spring for it for just one day if your trip to hit the headliner rides? You also get your PhotoPass pictures.

Can you get it for only the older kids in the family. Might make it a little easier on you and the little ones.

And don't forget about Rider Switch! We have five kids, too, and just came home a few weeks ago from a week-long trip. I purchased MP for my husband and the 3 older kids who would ride. One parent would ride with the older kiddos while the other parent stayed behind with the littles. Then we would use RS and the 2nd parent could take two of the kids again with them. It doesn't matter whose ticket the MP is for. They don't check or care. So you can take turns riding first. So we paid $40/day. On the last day we only bought one, just for the photopass because we focused on shows and characters that day.
If we wanted to save an extra $10/day, we could have even just gotten one parent and two kids MP (only $30/day). One older kid stays behind with the parent and littles. Then they get to go ride with RS and bring along one of the other kids too.

Yes. The line is actually by the entrance to It's tough to be a bug. Sometimes it is quicker to grab the fast pass before your first ride. Ride it without the FP and then afterward, you can pretty much just get back in line to ride it again.

There is also single rider line, which saves tons of time. Your kids won't be able to ride together (most of the time), but if they want to ride several times, it's a good way to handle that.

Yes. Ride RSR at opening and then head back towards the entracnce of carsland for your FP. There won't be a long line. Using paper FP is fine. We do it too. Everyone did until last summer. Use riderswap on RSR if you have anyone under 40" then go get the FP while they ride as that will make your return time earlier. Or get guardians FP and get RSR FP later for a night ride .
