riding attractions during fireworks?

I've been to Disney so many times and have seen the fireworks at least once during each trip - for something different, I'm wondering about riding attractions during the fireworks, specifically at Magic Kingdom. Are rides running during the evening parade and fireworks? Are the lines long? I've never tried this strategy and I'm wondering what others have experienced. Thanks!

We always ride the rides during parades and fireworks. We've seen them so many times, so it is our favorite thing to do when they are going on. Depending on the time of year you are going, the lines can be very short during the parades/fireworks.

One of my favorite memories is riding Dumbo with my daughter with fireworks going off in the background. It was so cool and special, especially the ride attendant let us stay on and keep riding because there was no line. So magical!

Yes, it's hard to time it but it is possible.
We've done Big Thunder and 7DMT during Wishes. We used FP to do it though. I'm not sure it's possible to time it right doing stand by. Unless you get lucky

Try to time a fp to be on 7 DMT during wishes. The fireworks go off all around you during your ride. It's very nice.

Dumbo was also a surprisingly fun ride during wishes.

We rode the magic carpets at least 4 times during the fireworks. I got some awesome pictures of them when we were up high.

Also at DL we rode the teacups many times during the parade. Had a great view of everything going by. And we rode about 3 times and when we were in line there was a great view of the parade.

Some of my best memories of fireworks/parades are when we were on rides during them.

Love it! Last year during MVMCP, we rode Peoplemover during the fireworks. When it was time to get off, we asked if we could stay on and that was not a problem at all. I've also ridden Splash, Thunder, and the Magic Carpets during the fireworks. On our Honeymoon, they were doing that year of a million dreams (or whatever) and let my husband and me watch the fireworks from Astro Orbiter. I have loved each experience, but Peoplemover was definitely my favorite.

We've often done rides during parades and Wishes to avoid lines, but one of my favorite times was when my daughter and I did BTTR - we were having a "girls' night", the "boys" were off doing the Sorcerer thing I believe. We didn't plan it, it was just a happy accident, but it was so beautiful to see the fireworks when we were on the ride!

Because we have 3 MK nights and we are splitting up MSEP and Wishes to two different nights, we plan to hit rides during the nighttime shows. I didn't even think we might see the fireworks from the rides but that could be a good thing to look for. I won't necessarily try to do it at the "right" time but I'm glad I'm aware now, in case the opportunity arises.

I visited Disneyland in 1992 and was riding the Storybook Canal when the fireworks started.
They stopped the ride and we watched the show from our boat.
That was great.

We typically head to BTMRR and Splash Mt. during Wishes. It is such a neat experience if you can time it right- and the crowds tend to be a little lighter during the show. (At least when we have gone in the summer!) We have seen both rides fill up right after, though, as people will stand to watch the fireworks from there. MSEP will “cut off” those 2 rides from the rest of the park for a bit, too, which can help keep crowds low for a short time.

I really like Big Thunder during fireworks as some have already noted. I also managed to time Splash Mountain perfectly once where you could see the fireworks right before the drop - it was such an awesome view!

As others have said, Thunder Mtn during the fireworks is spectacular. Coming around some of those corners, the fireworks are right in front of you.

I have only ridden 7DMT at night, and oddly enough caught it all 3 times during fireworks, all three stand by. The line is usually 35-45 minutes getting that late into the evening so you just need to make sure you get in line around 40 minutes before the fireworks are supposed to start. Sure it isn't a guarantee like a FP+ is, but it can work. If the line is moving too quickly, just let a few guests scoot on past you while you spin the barrels in the mine looking for snow white.

We go in June most years, right at the start of June. My son and I have had such great luck riding during the parades and fireworks most trips. We tend to focus on one part of the park. Big Thunder and Splash can be great combos during this time. The lines are shorter and seem fast. If you are lucky you can get some different views from the rides. It is something to think about if you don't worry about the parades and fireworks.

Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse has a spot for awesome fireworks viewing and you don't have to worry about "timing" it just right like with a ride.:)
