Ridiculous newbie question

Hi everyone,

Silly question. You have all talked about using travel cups for the free drink fountain. How does the soda not explode/fizz up out of the lid or straw? This has happened anytime I have put soda into a closed cup or bottle.

I use a large Tervis and never had any issues. Maybe wait a few seconds before you put the lid on. Ideally, there would be a small hole in the lid or a gap where the straw goes to let out the pressure of carbonated drinks. You don't want anything that seals completely.

The soda is not overly fizzy . These are wide mouth bottles and you have been using a ship-supplied paper cup under the drink dispenser - then pouring into your own container (unless you grab a clean cup from Cabanas for this process (during open hours), you still use a disposable cup.

I have never seen a bubble-over in this situation.
