I shall henceforth refer to those who accept without question the official position as "drinking the orange juice"...

unless, of course, you have some issue with that as well.

In that case, we can just say "drinking the free ice water."

should we fan the fames and add in "with a prior trips *refillable* resort mug" or would that be OTT? :rotfl:

DH has 3 days in a row coming up this week - he suggested a trip to Disney - I told him "you couldn't pay me to go to WDW in July" :rotfl2:

If everyone listened to the advice to not go on a holiday then there would be nothing to talk about here would there? I see nothing wrong with the OP commenting. I don't see what he posted as particularly negative and certainly not untrue. I see no reason to attack him.

I get that some people have to go in the summer when their kids are out of school. But no one HAS to go the week of July 4th. If it's about using vacation days, most people just get the actual holiday off, so that's only saving yourself one vacation day. (I used to only get 2 weeks a year so I was budget-conscious with my vacation days.)
And aren't the MK fireworks pretty cool any time of year? Most local communities have at least one good fireworks show within driving distance on the 4th. I do feel bad for the OP having a bad time. But most people have a little discretion in when they can take vacay.:)

Apparently, they do. ;)

But wouldn't it be great if we could reset the clock like it used to be when NOBODY went to the parks on major holidays -- like Christmas -- because they were spending time at home with friends and family...?

Exactly. Then they would be out of my way while I'm in the parks! :cool1:

Personally, I can never get how people can go away for Christmas. I LOVE being home on Christmas morning. Wouldn't want to be elsewhere.

I spent 2 Easters in Europe and it didn't even feel like a holiday away from home. Felt like just another day on vacation.

We haven't celebrated the holidays since we lost my dad. I'm sure at some point (perhaps after we have kids) we will go back to Home for
The Holidays, but for now I'm happy waking up in Disney, the Caribbean, etc.

I get that. The first Christmas after we lost our Dad was hard, but we realized we were still a family, and had him to thank for our strong identification as such...
