Rides with longest lines in each park?

We've been to Disneyworld every year, so I'm familiar with the rides there, which ones need to be done first, which ones need Fastpass, etc. This will be our first time to Disneyland over 4th of July week this summer. Can you tell me which rides are the ones we have to do early or get a Fastpass for at each park? Also..the FPs now..are they enforcing the return time? Thanks!

At DCA, it's usually TSMM and Soarin' with the longest lines (sometimes GRR too). You can get FP for Soarin' and GRR, but not TSMM. (And you can't get FPs for GRR until around midday.) However, with Carsland opening 2 weeks before your visit, I'm guessing that the rides in Carsland are going to have the longest line. (When Nemo reopened in 2007, I kid you not, the lines were 3+ hours.)

At DLR, Fantasyland gets pretty packed pretty quickly, so it's good to go over there first thing. Peter Pan especially always seems to have a long line and there is no FP for it (or anything else in Fantasyland that I can think of). Star Tours (FP) and Pirates (no FP) can also get very long, but if you get there right when the park opens you'll be OK. BTMRR has FP. And Matterhorn I imagine will be pretty packed but I can't recall exactly when it reopens.

Have a great time! :)

First, FP return times are not being enforced, which leads to your ride strategy. Hit the long-line rides in the morning while collecting FP's for afternoon and evening use.

The PP mentioned Peter Pan, Matterhorn, and TSMM as rides W/O FP that should be scheduled early. Other possible waits include Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Dumbo, Alice, and the Nemo Subs, but they are usually good for several hours in the morning and night.

Also, Hydroguy's "A DLR Guide for WDW Vets" at www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599
is a must-read.

Enjoy DLR!

Glad to know FP times aren't enforced, that will definitely help my schedule. Thanks for the info! Like I said, I know which ones need to done either early or w/FP in WDW, just wanted to get a feel for which ones were like that in DL.

I think RideMax would be worth your while. It’s $15 for a three month subscriptions and it’s easy to use.

Here are some rides in DL that typically have very long lines:

FL: Peter Pan, Dumbo, Alice, Matterhorn (Matterhorn reopens June 15)

TL: Finding Nemo Subs

The following 2 rides are not really great but they're fun for young children (and can have fairly long lines): Astro Orbitor and Gadget’s Go Coaster

FastPass Order (in general): Star Tours --> Space --> Splash --> Indy --> Autopia --> BTMRR

The FP machines for Roger Rabbit have usually been disconnected from the other FP machines, which means that you can usually get your first set of FPs for RR at any time.

Pirates (PotC) is a high-capacity ride, so it can have longer lines, but the line moves fairly quickly.

From my (limited) experience, Haunted Mansion usually (?) has shorter lines at night.

These are just some somewhat helpful generalizations. RideMax can give you better information. :)
