After swearing that we would never take a baby to Disney, we are now thinking of taking our 2 mo old in late October. We also have 2 other children, 4 and 7. How do you handle rides with a baby? Obviously, we won't be taking her on any of the wilder rides, but is there room for her to sit on my lap and still pull the safety bars down? I know that rides like Peter Pan have the safety bar and wasn't sure if we'd all be able to ride something like that.

Yes, you can take the baby on almost all the rides. In fact, I just kept mine in the sling on some of them. I don't recall having any problems with safety bars or anything.

Don't forget about the baby swap on the wilder rides. One adult rides with the big kids while the other adult stays with the little one, and then they trade. Just tell the first CM you see at each ride that you want to baby swap, and they'll tell you what to do. I think at most rides now they give the second adult a "baby swap pass" which gets them through the fast pass line. The added advantage is that the big kids get to ride twice in a row, once with each adult. (They let the big kids go again so that the 2nd adult doesn't have to go alone.)

I agree. Taking an infant is no problem on any of the calm rides. Plenty of room to have the baby on your lap. And a baby that age will likely be too young to be afraid of anything so don't worry about the dark rides like Snow White or Haunted Mansion. Loud noises may startle her, however, so watch out for things like the whistle on the steamboat. Our daughter was 5-1/2 mo. old for her first visit.

I've taken two six month olds. Riding the calm rides without a height rest. is no problem. You might want to take a baby sling though. We had never used one and the first night after the parks my husband went in search of one at the closest Wal-mart! lol We used a stroller until we got to the line part. Some of the lines can be lengthy- even 10 min. can seem like an eternity when you're holding an extra 15 pounds! (or however much they weigh then!) I've found this age to be easier than most- especially the toddler ages! Both trips the baby slept through a lot when they were sleepy, dark things didn't scare them, and they were pretty easy-going! We also got lots of attention from the characters! Have a great time and take lots of pictures!
