Are there any rides I can take my 6 mo old on? Or will we only be able to baby swap?

You'll be able to go, at your own discretion, on any of them that don't have a height restriction -- which is pretty much all but the thrill rides.

If you don't already have one, I would recommend getting a good baby carrier like an Ergo, Beco, or a good sling. These are fabulous helps with infants, not only for lines, but making them feel cozy during the rides.

I would start slow to see what your baby's tolerance is for darkness and/or noise.

That is what I love about disney it is made for families. I hate going to other theme parks and standing around with the baby while everyone else has a good time. You can take the baby on many rides. There is a list posted here somewhere. I am sure some great dis boarder will post a link. You and your baby will have a great time.:goodvibes

We took DD when she was 5 months old and had a fabulous vacation. We brought our own stroller that fully reclined for naps and I used a Baby Bjorn for the rides. It was fabulous! I rode everything that didn't have a height restriction and she ate it up. What I like about the Bjorn was she was strapped to my front and when I sat she was sitting on my lap. No adjustments or anything. (I had a friend who went with a sling and she had a small amount of adjusting but it wasn't a huge chore.)

I thought it was easier to go with an infant than when my daughter grew into a toddler.

I think we went on more rides with our son when he was 5 mos old than we will on our next trip with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. At 5mos old they're not yet afraid of dark and noise as much as they are later (at least mine weren't.) Slings are awesome--you won't have to wake the baby to go on a ride or into a restaurant or where ever else strollers can't go. Strollers are good to carry all your bags and drinks! Have fun!

Just off the top of my head

Mk

Tomorrow transit authority
Buzz
Snow white
Pooh'
Carousel
Peter Pan
Dumbo
Small world
Haunted Mansion
Country Bear
Pirates'
Aladdin

Friends of ours did all of those rides. I might be more hesitant on Aladdin and Dumbo, just because of the heights, but they held their 6 mo between 2 adults

MGM

Movie ride
Back lot tour

Epcot

Ellens ride
Space ship earth
Nemo
Living with the land
Figment
Mexico new ride
Norway ride

Ak

safarri ride
train to petting zoo
Triceratops

I'm sure there is more. I believe anything you can carry a baby into, they can ride unless there is a height restriction.

I agree with Camping's list above. Those are ones I remember from our Dec trip when DS was 5 months. He also really enjoyed the live shows, FATLK, Nemo etc.

Thanks so much for posting the list for rides with babies:goodvibes My DH was asking me was I out of my mind for wanting to go to Disney with a small baby until I showed him this. That reminds me to make for certain I pack my Baby Bjorn carrier.

You are welcome. Although I am a little embarrased that I could come up with them so quickly.;)

DH and I took our DS who was 3 months old at the time to WDW this past February. We rode all of the rides listed and had a wonderful time. I used the baby carrier also. His first ride was the Haunted Mansion, so when he gets older and becomes scared of it, we can say "You rode it when you were 3 months old!":yay:
