Rides that don't work with skirts?

Looking at pictures from many many trip reports it seems to me that the majority of women wear trousers or shorts on their Orlando holidays. I am the opposite - I rarely wear jeans/trousers, much prefer skirts and dresses.
The rides at DLP have never been a problem (although the bar in the Crush vehicles can be tricky depending on skirt length:rolleyes1). Are there any ride vehicles in WDW or Universal where wearing a skirt would be problematic?

TIA

regarding WDW, i don't think you'd have a problem, though a few might be a bit of a challenge to get out of gracefully....specifically i'm thinking of space mountain....but i think you could still ride it...it would just be a bit more difficult to exit...
also maybe splash mountain....
but you could ride all of them i think....
i've worn skirts and don't recall ever having a problem at WDW....
as for universal - i'm not a universal person, so i can't say if it's a problem or not...i'm not familiar with their rides...

I wore running skirts with built-in shorts and was glad for the coverage on rides like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and the carousel - pretty much anything with a straddle seat.

space and splash don't have straddle seats, but they're a bit lower down, so climbing out is more challenging....but not really a problem...

I was just thinking about this yesterday too, as I've never been so didn't know if they were suitable for some rides. I bought some clothes for our trip in may in the sales last summer and they're all skirts/dresses because I find them way more comfortable. I think i'm going to bring a few pairs of hotpants type shorts to wear under them just in case :rotfl:

I almost always wear sundresses at WDW and have never had a problem. Same for the Harry Potter half of Universal. I can't stand clingy t-shirts or shorts in that heat and humidity! These dresses were mostly just below or at the knee - shorter skirt or a very fitted one might be more challenging..

that's what DD does...in the summer she only wears very very short sundresses and underneath she wears those tiny little stretchy shorts for coverage...

I have never worn trousers to WDW and never had a problem. My skirts and dresses are always below the knee so that helps with getting into and out of ride vehicles modestly. I will even wear them on Hulk, Manta and the like and not had a problem with modesty.

I wear sundresses a lot at WDW. I do wear cotton lycra shorts underneath though as most of mine sit just above the knee. I can't think of any rides that are a problem in themselves - it's the getting in and out of some of them, like Space and Splash Mountain and RnR for example. I've never had an issue with a skirt 'lifting' on a ride but I am usually quite conscious of how I stand when getting on and off of the ride vehicles.

Thanks for all your replies. It's nice to know I'm not alone on the skirts versus trousers issue :).

A follow-on thought: what about rides with the hump in the middle of the seat or those with a between the legs strap that joins with the overshoulder harness? Thinking that longer skirts would get hiked up by those type of restraints? I'm not quite the shape or the age for skinny shorts, and don't think the world is ready to be exposed to my aged thighs:lmao:.

Never had a problem and the skirts/dresses I wear are not knee length. :lmao: Just hop on, hike tat thing up if you need to! Trust me, no one will notice what you are wearing but you

Had to laugh when I read the title as quite often I am in that predicament without even thinking about it before hand.

My skirts are usually just above the knee and there is a few rides that can cause a situation :rotfl:. Tower of terror (but its dark so not a massive issue) and Space mountain. Universal etc with the seats you talked about, you just have to sort of position your skirt around the middle bit!! :confused3

I wore a strapless dress one day, and on space mountain the thing flew down exposing my lovely bra. Needless to say, we did not get one of those "on the ride" photos made available to us....

OMG - that is serious gravitational force :rotfl: Hope you caught on quickly...

Reminder to self NO STRAPLESS DRESSES.

I always wear skirts or dresses. I made the mistake of wearing a wrap around skirt one night at the Magic Kingdom for the Wishes dessert party. We ended up on Space Mountain and I had a slight wardrobe malfunction climbing in and out. I've certainly learnt my lesson and I apologise to anyone who was unfortunate enough to be behind me in the queue haha! I can't remember anything thing else being a problem.

I didn't catch on until we got off the ride! No kidding, no more strapless dresses :):thumbsup2
