With our Disney trip less than a month away, my husband said (rather drearily) today "it's a bummer that I'll have to ride most rides alone".
Our family consists of myself, my husband, and my almost 3 year old who is in a total mommy phase right now.
I think she will mostly want to ride with me and now I'm feeling a tad bit bad for my husband.
Can anyone give me a list of rides that can seat 3 people? We are going to all the parks so any insight you have is great!

hi, i'm sure there will be a few, the only one i can think of is HM but that may not be of any help to you having a 3 year old,
cal :)

Figment, Test Track, Dinosaur, Safari, Jungle Cruise, It's A Small World, Pirates (I think)... off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more, but as there are just two of us I wasn't paying a lot of attention.

To add to above just a MK BTTRR (when DS was small we had 3 in a seat and we are not small), splash has 3 in a column, little mermaid, Pirates, CoP,
Some of the rides that only seat two you will want to do twice and so we always swap.
At the other parks most rides will handle 3 in a row.
It's not going to be a big deal breaker for you. And sometimes get DH to go in front and take the photo of you by looking back

Also Peter Pan, Carousel, Primevil whirl - we are also a 3 and it tends to be me who rides solo as I'm a bit more socialble if I have to share :chat:

It was always myself, my husband and our son so three always. Even with one person sitting "by themselves" the other two were right there in the next row so no one missed out on anything. Remind your husband that when you get to the seater person, it will be a party of three. Not a party of two and a party of one.

I'm the one riding "alone" and I'm not seeing the problem. He'll be right there. Nearly hand's reach.

Kids flipflop in who they long to be with. This continues forever, it seems. There's no point letting any of it hurt feelings or make you feel lonely or mopey, not even about themepark seating. My son was solely dependent on me for his nutrition for nearly a year and then part time for a long long time after that. DH never gave him a bottle and by the time DS ate food he needed no assistance. But for most everything else DS wanted dad. He's 11 now. Wants dad on the plane, wants me when he's sick, mom for dance conventions, dad for most themepark rides. Flip and flop. For every time I'm alone on TSMM (sad there's no SR line so I can laugh with a stranger) there were other times I couldn't get him to leave me alone. Take it in stride. Childhood is goofy. :)

DH will just get a different perspective of the two of you. :)

Yep to all of the above. We rode 3 across on HM, Peter Pan, Figment, Little Mermaid, Nemo, Spaceship Earth, People Mover, It's a Small World. All the omnimovers will support 2 adults and a little one in one car. On Dumbo it was 2 to an elephant and Magic Carpets sat 4 to a carpet. Living with the Land and Ellen have longer rows where you can all sit together. Barnstormer is only 2. Winnie the Pooh is 4 to a honey pot. I don't think you can do 3 across on BTMRR though since there are individual restraints. My DS was not tall enough though so I can't say for sure. Safari at AK would also allow you to sit together. TSMM is 2 to a seat if each person wants to play the game, but you kiddo could ride between you if they did not want to shoot at the targets.

I often ended up being the lone rider in our family. A 3 year old doesn't take up much space, but when they get a little older, some of the rides that can fit 3 get a little too small (by the time Ali was 10, Haunted Mansion, for instance, was cramped with all of us). Since you wait in line together and are only separated for the 3-5 minutes during the actual ride, I never felt like I was missing out. Now, we do single rider lines when available where we all end up making new friends.

That is absolutely true. DD articulates it well - she says that dad is the fun one to be a bum with and that I am there for safety and comfort. Who she wants to be with from one minute to the next is often as simple as what she needs at that moment. Funny enough, Universal belongs to Mom - that is our special place together, while we all share Disney.

So I tried to combine ride into a simple list based on @nherbert and @BudgieMama suggestions so you can easily read them and other can too. Of note some you may be restricted by height. Also, shows or anything that is a theater is not included (Tiki Room, Tough to be a bug, Indiana Jones, Turtle Talk with Crush are examples):

MK
Jungle Cruise
Aladdin
Pirates
Big Thunder Mountain
Splash Mountain
Haunted Mansion
Liberty Riverboat
Carousel
It's a Small World
Peter Pan
Little Mermaid
Dumbo
Winnie the Pooh
Tea Cups
Tomorrowland Speedway
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Astro Orbitor (But I wouldn't recommend it)
Space Mountain (We have been split up across two cars which is less than ideal) XX0 - 00X where the 0's are my traveling party

DAK
Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl
Triceratops Spin
Safari
Rafikis Train

EPCOT
Spaceship Earth (You won't all be in the photo however)
MissionSpace
Test Track
Ellen's Energy Adventure
Figment
The land
Soarin
The Seas with Nemo and Friends
El Rio de Tiempo

HS
Tower of Terror
Great Movie Ride
Toy Story Mania (you can squeeze in three but only 2 play)
Star Tours

I think that about covers it!

As someone else said, for attractions a 3 year old would be going on, you will almost always be riding together.
