Rides suggestions for those with neck problems

My dh has had disc fusion surgery and can't do rides that jerk the rider back and forth. I know that he'll probably have to skip all the motion simulator rides and BTMR, but what about RnR, Space Mountain, and Mission Space. Are these rides really jerky or fairly smooth? Are there any other rides we should stay away from?

ToT and TT don't bother him, so I know those at least are doable.

ITA with Space mountain being jerky. It seems like BTMRR inside in the dark. RNR will hurt anyone's neck if they don't have their head against the headrest when it starts you off. One guy was talking to someone in front of us in the que & the look on his face when his head was forced back, well, I made sure that mine was. :) It seemed pretty smooth to me once we got started though.

1) Four years ago, my DD had 3-discs replaced.
2) This was ONLY 6-weeks before WDW.
3) With doctor recommendations, she avoided
. . . Space Mountain (jerky)
. . . Big Thunder Mountain (jerky)
. . . Splash Mountain (jolt after drop)
. . . Body Wars (jerky)
. . . Star Tours (jerky)
. . . Tower of Terror (jolt after drop)
. . . RnRC (jerky)
. . . Kali River (jerky)
4) She did everything else.

I'd avoid the indy cars too...or have someone you know drive behind you so some over enthusiastic kid driver doesn't ram into you. :)

Thank you for the list. DH had both his surgeries back in 98, so his doctor did okay him for the rides with the sudden drops as long as he kept his head firmly pressed against the back of the seat. The rides that snap his head back and forth just about undo him though. He rode Mr. Toad's Wild Ride after the first surgery and I'm surprised he didn't end up in the ER.

I'll definately have to recommend to him these other rides that he should skip, but knowing him he'll want to do them anyway.

I hate to say it, but he should probably also skip Kilimanjaro Safari and Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl as well. If he's been on Tough to be a Bug before, that should be okay, but, if not, there is one part of that show which makes people jerk forward suddenly.

Kungaloosh!
Morticia.

Also - Stitch's great escape.
the way that shoulder harness pushes down on you can be kinda jarring.

if he still wants to ride - have him sit up straight, holding his bum off the seat so that the harness stops 'higher' then his shoulders so they won't hit him. I had hurt my back when in WDW in december and did this...I missed a few effects, but at least i didn' thave anything pushing me down in my seat.

Mom has a bad neck so we knew to avoid BTMRR, SM, and several others mentioned. But without thinking, she went on Kilimanjaro Safari. Definitely add that to the list of things to avoid!
