Although we have been to disney many times we have never taken a baby before, she will be nearly one when we go in september, what rides will we be able to take her on? There will be 6 adults so we can baby swap if we need to.

Most of them.

Only ones with height restrictions will be off limits.

I would start with open air rides and see how it goes and then ones that aren't so dark. I wouldn't want to start with a dark or loud ride at the beginning because your DD might freak out on it and then not even be open to trying other rides she would find enjoyable.

Another tip I have is to get a good baby carrier (an Ergo, Beco, or a *good* sling). There are a lot of places where you can't bring the stroller (lines and such) and having a carrier for those times is invaluable!

First of all i have to agree with the PP on getting a *good* baby carrier...i have used my Mei tei's or slings a lot at Disney and they are a lifsaver!!!
Second anything with out a restriction is good..we started off with Its a small world...my girls all loved it...Dont worry , taking a baby to WDW is great!!!

Thanks for the advice, i have to admit i am a little nervous about taking her, im already worrying about the 9 hour flight and the hot weather, but at least i'll have grandparents on hand to help. We are getting married while we're there so i want the trip to be special

Oh wow thats great!! Good luck and everything will be great!
Remember for all of you, but especially the baby...lots of fluids throughout the day, take some time to sit in the air conditioning for a while if its really hot...don't forget hats and sunscreen (remember the ears and feet), nothing worse than seeing those poor children in WDW (or anywhere) with bright red feet, i always feel so bad for them.
My girls love all the rides in WDW!!!

Congratulations!!!

Here's a link to someone who sells a lot of baby carriers in the UK. I believe she gets some that are popular in the US that are otherwise hard to find.

I believe that you can "rent" some of her products to see if you like them before purchase.

For a one year old I would recommend a Maya Wrap or a Patapum from her list. If you can get an Ergo or a Beco there, those would also be on my list. The two shouldered carry of the Patapum, Ergo or Beco is more comfy for longer turn carries (and you can use them as backpack carriers. But I still use my sling with my DS who is 16 mos.
