I am overweight, but I'm comfortable on all of the rides. However, my friend is concerned that she won't fit on all of the rides. Can you give me a list of rides in both parks that we should maybe avoid due to fluffiness? She hasn't been to Disney since she was a young kid and never been to CA, so I want to make sure she enjoys the rides I pick for our trip ;). Thanks!

That's a hard one to answer because we cant um quantify fluffiness. :)

But really I don't think there are any attractions she couldn't enjoy. Disney has done a lot of work to increase clearances through out the park for just this reason. Some of the queue's are a little tight for everybody but larger folks can still get through easy enough.
I really don't think she will have any problem.

Most of the rides will accomodate a larger frame..

You will have trouble on Goofies flight school.. the way that seat is set up even smaller people have trouble... you would most likely go on it as a single rider..

I think your friend will be good on just about everything. Being of the highly Fluffy persuasion myself, I have ridden everything. (I admit to never trying the swings or the swinging rockets at DCA). It might depend on how someone carries their weight. The tightest fit for me is Goofy's Sky School, but I find that if I cross my legs I can get the lower bar to click. The rest of the rides accommodate without issue. I am running at about 5'7" and north of 250. I have a friend who is a bit fluffier than I am and she finds she needs to click seat belts prior to sitting, and then sits down but she rides everything as well. She does skip Goofy's because the ride scares her, so not sure how she would do with it. HTH!

Last summer, I was 6'0" 380 lbs (I've lost 40 since then--woo hoo!) and rode everything except Goofy's sky school. I just avoided that one on the advice of many people here. My wife (who is a little "fluffy" as well) and I were actually able to ride side-by-side on most of the rides with bench seats. The cast members usually put us in the roomier row of each ride without having to ask. We did get separate elephants on Dumbo, and we should have got separate cars on Roger Rabbit (that was quite a squeeze). And make sure you wait for a normal car on Casey Jr. Don't get stuck in one of the cages.

I am on the much fluffier side of things and I had no trouble with any ride. We did not try Goofy's Sky School though - (we just never got over to it)

Um...I'm thinking maybe California screaming because of the way the restraints go overhead? Goofy's Sky School if she is riding with someone much smaller because there is just a bar...the smaller person will be bumping up and down quite a bit consequently.

Well, I am pretty large chested and I was able to get the overhead to click on CS, so she might do fine there as well.:)

Goofy's sky school bar is actually two bars, one for each seat so the difference in sizes will not be an issue. BTMRR is another matter. That one, if I remember correctly, is one bar that goes across the whole car.

You are correct, that has a single bar. I tend to ride BTMRR alone while DH and DD usually ride in a car together. I could fit with another adult, but the bar would definitely be at my level. He rides with DD because we do not feel comfortable with her riding alone.

With my current weight loss, the HM bar is no longer touching me when it goes down.....Wheeeee!

On Grizzly River Rapids there are slightly different sized seat belts some smaller (for kids) and others larger. I know because of a slightly opposite end issue where my DS10 is super slim and if he got in the wrong seat he was not secured properly and resulted in me having to hold in the slack and hold down the seatbelt for the entire ride. So you may need to swap seats if one is a bit small. One other factor to consider if you ride this one is weight distribution we had a fluffier couple (as you call it) ride with us one time, they sat side by side on one side, I was opposite them (I am a little fluffy) and my 3 kids we found that it affected how the raft navigated the rapids compared to other rides. I am not judging just saying we noticed a difference.

It helps to know where her fluffier parts are, for an idea of rides that may be tough.

I asked this question about 2.5 years ago for my sister, and here's a link to the responses I received: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2945979&highlight=pooh+sized

What about Peter Pan? I usually ride this with 1 of my kids, not another adult. Can 2 adults comfortably fit on Peter Pan. It's been a while so I can't remember how much space is there. I just remember that you are sort of suspended. I can't really say how fluffy my friend is because I don't really pay attention to that sort of thing. But if I had to guess, maybe a size 18? I don't know LOL

A size 18 shouldn't have any problems on any of the rides. When you mention fluffy I picture someone at least size 24. But again, it all depends on how the weight is distributed.

Considering I am sitting at a comfortable 26 and ride everything (well except the swings and swinging rockets, because I have not tried) I have to agree your friend should probably be fine. Lots of fluffy levels! :goodvibes

I'm a fat 24 and ride everything just fine. Well I don't do any of the "pier" rides because I don't like them/they aren't fun to me.

I carry in my booty and tummy and the worst for me at Disney are the Fantasyland queues.

I am 18 with fat belly and booty and I had no problems riding anything and most of the time with both my kids (5&6)

I am an 18 and very large chested. Nemo wasn't bad at all. They ride I had slight trouble with was California Screaming and that was because of my chest not my waist, where the rest of my weight is. But I have become skilled at smushing my chest to fit, and it was that bad either.
