We are going to do MVMCP this year and we know it will be very crowded. We also are their for the festivities, parade, fireworks... My question is, has anyone done the rides between the parade and fireworks or after? How were the lines? And are the characters all over the park or just on Main Street?

Well.. we never try to ride inbetween the parades and fireworks. We usually end up watching both parades, and we like to watch the first one in Frontierland. That parade starts at 8:15. By the times its over, we dont really have very much time before Wishes starts at 9:30. If you only do the 2nd parade, which they say is less crowded, by the time Wishes is over, you maybe have 45 minutes-1 hour before the next parade. We always watch the 2nd parade on Main Street because they make it snow during the parade on Main st. To get a good curb side spot, you have to get there at least an hour early.. so we watch wishes and go get a parade spot. For us, there isnt time to ride. As for the lines, it will all depend on which day of the week your party is on, and how close to Christmas it is. Least crowded parties in early December will be the ones during the week. I heard Fridays are most crowded. The characters are spread out all over the park. Donald has had his own spot at the xmas tree farm by IAMSW, the princesses have been out behind the castle, etc. We are going to the party after THanksgiving and cant wait!! :santa:

I went one year with just DH and I, no kids. We didn't sit for the shows or the parades at all, we just did rides. We got tons of rides in. We rode everything that was open at least once. I do recall though that some stuff wasn't open. I remember my DH being bummed he couldn't catch Hall of Presidents. The ride lines were low IMO. We went on a Tuesday because we were advised it's the slowest of all party days usually. Mostly just resort guests and not as many locals do the Tuesday parties. I think I asked here actually and that was the general consensus. That was back in 2003 though.

Yeah, I thought tuesday nights would be slower so thats when we booked. I didn't realize there were two parades though. This does seem like a good time to try and hit some rides! We are going to be their for 2 weeks with 10 day passes so I'm not worried about missing rides, but it would be fun to mingle a few rides in on the night of the party! Do they put up additional decorations around the park like the MNSSHP or just what is already up for the holidays?

We always do rides during the early parade. Most of the lines are short or are walk-ons...except Peter Pan which always seems to involve a few minutes of wait time. We get a spot for the fireworks a few minutes early. Then when the fireworks are over, we stake out our parade spots. Often we send one of the group to get hot dogs from Casey's.
