After checking the website I noticed that this Saturday DL closes at midnight but some of the rides have closing times earlier than that. I can see that Disney wants you to spend that last hour or so in the shops buying souvenirs , but does anyone know what rides are open the latest on a Saturday night in both DL and DCA? I'd like to be able to suggest to my teens which rides they should head for in their last hour or two before park closure that will still be operating. Thanks.

At Disneyland the rides in Toontown will close prior to the fireworks and will not reopen, the rides in Fantasyland will close as well except these will reopen following the fireworks. The railroad also does not operate during the fireworks and will stop operation shortly before then, however I believe this does reopen following the fireworks. Storybook Land Canals will also close an hour prior to each parade and will reopen following the parade.

In California Adventure everything will remain open except for any outdoor rides on Paradise Pier which will close prior to World of Color and will not reopen for the night since World of Color ends after the park officially closes.

I'm curious, but what website are you looking at that lists specific hours for certain rides?

In most cases, most of the ride will remain open as long as the park is open, baring some unexpected problem with the ride. As the PP mentioned, some of the rides close during shows or parades, but most will re-open. Toontown is the notable exception. Additionally, some of the dining locations do not remain open until midnight (I know Jolly Holiday and the Market House do remain open).

While helping my son plan for a trip and reorient him to where things are, I went to the Disney website, then Parks & Attractions section, then Disneyland, then Maps. This cute little interactive map pops up and covers DL, DCA, Downtown Disney and the adjacent hotels. If you zoom in on the map for each park the names of attractions and stuff pops up. If I recall correctly, on the DCA map as you zoom in (I used an iPad if it make a difference) and the names of the rides pop up I was able to click on the name of some attractions and a little window popped up that gave info on the ride, like if it has Fastpass and hours. Soarin' showed its hours as 10 am to 8 pm I think. Tower of Terror I think did not have any detail, there's a little blue icon next to the attraction name and if there is an icon the window will pop up. When I noticed DCA closes this Saturday at 10 pm and Soarin closes at 8 it caused me so wonder what rides are actipually open the last hour or two before park closing time.

Ah okay, I see them. I don't know for which date they showing the hours, but I think it might be for the current day (according to the system). When I went to Soarin' this morning, it shows hours of 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, which matches the hours for DCA today (Friday).
