I just got back from WDW. To help prepare my DD7 for the rides, we watched a lot of the potentially scary/intimidating ones on YouTube. She felt very good about that -- she was more comfortable deciding what she wanted to ride and what she'd skip. We ran into a problem, though: we'd seen a video of Test Track, so she thought she knew what to expect, but videos can't give an accurate portrayal of the motion of a ride. Going on a ride that she thought she could handle (but was actually terrifying) ruined the day for her, and also undermined her confidence.
First run...WHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOO the whole way thru. Young college age guys in the back were laughing at her reaction.
well I guess at times that can go hand in hand
