We are taking our 2 year old for the first time to DL,what rides and attractions are age appropriate?

Mostly all of Fantasyland (excluding The Matterhorn and maybe The Mad Hatter teacup spin). Tommorowland Autopia, child in passenger seat. Astro Blasters, Finding NEmo, Winnie The Pooh, Jungle cruise and tarzan treehouse

:thumbsup2

I would add that Snow White can scare some small kids. Pinocchio can, too. Just depends on how frightened they get by "scary" stuff. When our DD was 2 she had no problem with these, but I know kids who did!

Also, all the rides in Toontown (except maybe Roger Rabbit -- which can scare some little kids) should be fun for a 2 yo, as well as Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland.

In CA -- Muppet 3D movie, Monsters, Inc. ride, Turtle Talk with Crush, and the whole Bug Land kiddie rides would be fun for a toddler.

Don't forget the petting zoo at Big Thunder Ranch. And I'm not sure if your 2 yr. old would like Pirates or not. My mom took me on it when I was a baby, so I was used to it at 2. The Tiki Room would also be fun and if you're kid is a girl, then Princess Fantasy Faire would be something to check out too bc there's coloring, crafts and such. The Main Street Cinema and homes in Toontown. Other than that, all the things mentioned above is good.

Mr. Toad's WIld Ride and Casey Jr. are both age-appropriate. In fact, almost every Fantasyland ride in there should be alright. I'm taking a 2-year old this winter, myself.

I don't know about Snow White and Pin for a 2 year old, because I refused to go on them again after we went when DS was 1. :)

From many posts about kids, it really seems that when they turn 3 that's when they start getting nervous about things, but many 2 year olds are still OK with most things. So my guy would probably have been fine with those dark rides, but since I wasn't and he didn't care, we didn't go. :)

That said, I like DCA's a bug's land FAR more than anything in Fantasyland. (though we have NOT seen It's Tough To Be A Bug yet) I don't really care from any religious standpoint, but there's something just weird about Mr Toad's and going through hell. :confused3 Though otherwise it's an enjoyable ride. I'd rather be on Flik's Flyers than on Dumbo, I like the Triton carousel (in Paradise Pier not bug's land) more than King Arthur's.

And I adore Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. Short, sweet, and with burping. Perfect for a little kid. :goodvibes And usually without much of a line so you can go again and again and again (I think 8 in a row was my and DS's max so far?).

OH, but the one thing I do adore in Fantasyland is Casey's. It's almost a thrill ride, b/c it goes much faster than you expect! We've only ridden from the forward-facing bench seat 'cars', not the "cages" (b/c hubby is paranoid about not fitting) so the ride might be different from those, but we just adore that ride. It took us several trips to finally get on it, and it took my solo trip to try it out. After that, I insisted that hubby and DS go, and they were pleasantly surprised at the fun. :goodvibes

pirates and haunted mansion my 2 yr old loved them the best out of all of them.

It really depends if your child is afraid of dark rides.

Peter Pan's Flight seems to agree with all kids, so if I were you I'd start with that for dark rides. All kids seem to be fine with Winnie the Pooh, too. My niece, who was four at the time, got somewhat scared in the Heffelump and Woozle part the first time. Other dark rides children are frightening on more frequently, especially Snow White's Scary Adventures. The witch in there really gives kids the heeby geebys for some reason.
