The old rider swap allowed for up to 3 guest to ride the ride with the pass. Does the new "rider switch" program allow only 2 people to ride the ride? B/c the disney site states only 2 can ride: "Please note that only 2 Guests are allowed per Rider Switch Pass."

Anyone who went very recently can confirm?? Thanks

There are many "names" associated with this "swap" practice.
No difference.
Nothing has changed.

(BTW, You can ignore a lot of the "information" on the WDW website.)

More info on the "Swap" can be found HERE.

There is no new program. In all of my reserach since our first trip to DLR in '05 and to WDW in '10 it's always actually been "switch" except for on boards when we say "swap".

All that changed was that someone put a bunch of wrong info up on the WDW site right around the time that My Account become My Disney Experience and the world went to pieces LOL. But no one ever changed how CMs were trained, so it's all the same same same. (and no, unless you get a CM willing to bend rules, it's NOT for those who simply do not care to ride...it's for groups with someone too *short* to ride)

(straight from WDW site)
"What Is Rider Switch and How Does It Work?

If Guests in your party can’t or don’t want to board an attraction, you don’t have to miss out!
If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem!"

What I take away from this is that it is not limited to parties with children (not meeting height requirement), now whether or not a CM is trained on this is another story...

The WDW site is wrong.
It is wrong on so very many things.
The site is notoriously poorly edited.
It has been that way since the big CM layoff about 10 years ago. (I've been here a long time.)

This is true. But at the same time a lot of guests take the WDW site as "official" as far as those items go (because they don't know any better). When it comes down to a party wanting to utilize the rider switch (that they saw online, providing a way for older guests not wishing to ride) when they have a guest (tall enough) who simply does not wish to ride they could show this to the CM and press the issue.

They can, but it will be explained to them that the website is incorrect.

They will be instructed that everyone should enter the queue and at those not riding will be able to exit the ride instead of boarding it.
