Rider Swap Question

It was literally just SDMT, even slinky dog had no problem at all. We did every ride and never had any problems it was only ever on SDMT.

I'm caught up in this same confusion too. I have 4 kids who will be 9, 7, 5, and 2 on our trip. Trying to figure out FPs and who can ride what and how gives me headaches! Do I make my younger kids get stuck with FPs they can't use? Or do I make my 9yo suffer and miss the 'cool rides?' My poor 7yo and 5yo are short. I'm not even sure if my 5yo will make the cut for 40" rides. Right now I'm leaning towards getting FPs for everyone for the "big rides" that are on people's must ride lists - 7DMT, SDD, and FOP. Those are the big ones that I've seen in other threads people stating that they were being denied. I'll chance it with others making sure that whichever adult doesn't have a FP is okay with the possibility of missing it. Though really hoping a bit more clarity happens soon. ;)

I'm really worried about the time suck of RS though. Are some of these rides really worth it? My internal debate. lol.

This exactly!!!

It's not like my 4 year old is going to go on a ride by himself with his lone FP...

I shouldn't have to have a degree in advanced scheduling from MIT to enjoy a "vacation" that costs this much.

The FastPass system is a joke. It leaves no flexibility / spontaneity in your trip. It forces you to have to do things in a certain amount of time, so that you can get to the next pre-planned meal or ride or whatever. Rider swap was designed to help with this for families with smaller children. Turns out we are now just looked at like people trying to cheat the system.

At the end of the day, we will have a good time. But I've already put way too much time into planning and we're still 180 days out.

I can't imagine doing these trips yearly! More power to you guys!

The last time I was at Disney was right before they started any fast pass system. I had no idea that by agreeing to a Disney trip that I was also signing myself up for an intense theme park study program. I'm determined to at least squeak out a B in it. :p

Both times I've planned Disney trips I've convinced myself that I have learned enough about theme park operations to warrant a career change!

Thank you so much for the updates, I greatly appreciate and my family will as well!

You’re welcome. When I asked the CMs what was the point of having RS if all riders already had a FP, they told me the FP is exchanged for RS meaning the one hour time limit would be lifted to anytime that day and also our daughter can ride again with the second rider.
This was never questioned on any other ride.

So far, our Universal day in the middle of our trip with Express Passes sounds like it will be just the break we need from the Disney FP madness.

I’m a local passholder for both parks and I love Universal’s child swap process so much better than Disney’s.
