rider swap on FOP?

No, everyone does not need (nor need to use) a FP to get a rider swap. see my posts earlier in this thread.

Interesting - no the person not riding (staying with the baby/child) won't have used their FP+ only those riding first.

Also - it will to take a while for the first party to ride and there is a risk that the adult riding second will be at the end/past their FP+ ride time by the time the first party rides. In this case I would maybe make a FP+ for everyone but the adult waiting with the child and then try and make a single FP+ for them sometime after. Then since the RS paper pass is good for at least that day (if not longer) the person who waited could use their FP+ during their window and the other 3 can accompany them via the FP+ queue using the RS paper pass.

Like at any other normally-operating attraction, FP waits rarely exceed 20 minutes.

Wow that is strange as I quoted your post - sorry !

It probably won't take over an hour for FOP with a FP+ but this gives flexibility and has worked well on other attractions for us. You also have a grace period after I was just being cautious.

FOP takes ca. 30-35 minutes from entering FP+ queue to exiting the ride @ Windtraders.

So if you start with your first group near the beginning of your window, you will be fine. And don't forget the 15 min grace period.

My only thought is a child or adult with a mental disablily or fear should be allowed a swap regardless of height. At soarin, this happen in front of us. The mom and dad wanted to ride, so they left their adult disabled son by the upstairs bathrooms. He very much scared my daughter when he grabbed himself in a very lewd way close to her, sitting on the bench. I looked for a CM but couldn't find one. Not because I was angry, but felt the wrong person may have hurt him. I would rather see them (his family) get a swap, then leave him along.

I think it's backwards when a party who really doesn't need RS gets one and a party who really could use one can't get it. But unfortunately, life isn't fair.

The website is not official policy. You can politely show them something if you want to, but that doesn't mean they'll grant you the switch pass.

It really is at the discretion of the CM.

YES^ It does not matter what the website, the phone CM or a CM not at location you are at says ..... the CM on the ground and their direct "manager" have the final word. Whether that is a ride, a restaurant, a hotel.

The Disney website across many areas is very out of date, even contradicts itself. There are many rules they do not enforce and many they do not publish. They do themselves disservice with how bad it is.

CORRECT^ Refused on attractions since he is tall enough to ride. He is very obviously and clearly disabled so it's not like they don't believe me. Disney is VERY INCONSISTENT on this. Some have success, some don't. The Rider Switch program has lots of flaws and they really should have a meeting of the minds, fix it so it's not abused and so it can be used by those in need. We have found many issues with inconsistent policy implementation at the attractions whether it's Rider Swap, DAS use, enforcing rider age requirements etc. It is frustrating but it's been this way for many years.

Can I ride by myself using a FPass and get a rider swap while my mom takes the 2 kids on Navi (stand by at rope drop). Or do we all 4 have to show up at the fastpas line to get the rider swap. If I show up in line alone the CM may think I don't have children and I am just trying to get amother ride.

I thought I'd just jump on and say that we just had this experience at Expedition Everest. Our toddler - who is way too short to ride - was in his stroller and when we asked for a rider swap so our 5-year old could ride, we had to get the toddler out of the stroller to prove he was too short. The CM was super nice about it and apologized for the inconvenience, but it was made clear that RS was just for those too small to ride.

I mean, if you went by the wording on the website (which just says a guest who doesn't want to board), literally everyone could use rider swap by saying they had someone in their party who didn't want to ride!

You have to bring the too short kid to the CM to get a RS pass.

Thank you for the responsed. My 4 year old is tall enough to ride but she is very sensitive. Car rides make her afraid and she is literally afraid of her own shadow. So I had planned to not take her. The website says rider swap is for those too short or who choose not to ride. However, it seems like rider swap might only apply to a child's height rather than a child's bravery.
