Thoughts on which one you prefer and why?

We are going during Thxgiving - and it will be crazy packed...wondering which one to go with - or if arming myself with the info from these boards is enough?:confused3

Will you have a smartphone? A subscription to one of the wait time apps would be very helpful during a busy time.

I am a fan of Touringplans and use Lines, but have never used ridemax, so I can't compare them.

I have used both. RM is better at creating itineraries. TP is better at providing wait time data in a useful form.

I would strongly recommend RideMax over Touringplans. Admittedly, I have only used TP at WDW, but it was terribly inaccurate, in my opinion. Wheras RideMax was dead-on accurate at both DL and WDW. TP may do a better job at DL, but I don't plan to give it another chance personally.

What's more, I find RM to be VERY helpful when the park is busier. In fact, the busier the better for RM. I first used RM at DLR the week of Christmas to New Years, which is traditionally one of the busiest weeks of the year, and it was incredibly efficient at keeping my family out of long lines.

I haven't tried Ridemax, but Touringplans at the moment seems to be really underestimating the times at DLR...I should know because I've been following it like a hawk and the ride waits are longer than what TP is reporting.

This is useful! Thanks - I think I will go ahead and try Ridemax. We are not going until Thanksgiving week - but I will report on how it helped or not! :goodvibes

Does RM still have their money back guarantee? We use RM and it's always been fantastic.

I don't know much about touring plans other than their data always looked off. I checked the attendance they counted for Christmas last year and their actual attendance said it was a 9.8 even though it was a downpour and the parks were empty. I don't trust them.

Also, don't buy RM just yet! They're only showing dates through Oct. 31st right now. They probably won't start adding Thanksgiving dates for a couple more weeks at the earliest. :goodvibes

I just purchased ridemax for our Oct. 21-24 trip. Am I not looking at it completely bc all I see is planning for DL not DCA?!? Any suggestions?

When you click to open the program, the first screen is "Select Park and Visit Date". At the top of the screen is a drop down menu, it defaults to Disneyland. Click on it and select Disney California Adventure. Then select the date. It should bring up the next screen to select rides.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2
