I can't think of a reason why RM would NOT put Dumbo first, however if that is the case, you could always set the start time for your touring plan to say 9:30 (assuming that you will be there for rope drop) and then just do Dumbo first, and pick up with your RM plan after you get done with Dumbo.

true- thats the only solution i could come up with, too

I never created a single RM Magic Kingdom plan that didn't put Dumbo as the first attraction of the day -- and I created a whole bunch of plans when I was playing around with the software. Seems like something else in your plan is causing that - are you not planning on arriving at Rope Drop? That's the only thing I can figure out that might cause that.

that may be it- i'll have to play around with my plans. We have and ADR at CP at 8:15am. I dont think we will make RD at 9am.
thanks for the tip- i will change my start time to 9am anyhow and see what i get

how do you rework/tweak plans? is there any way to change the order they put rides in.
the only changes i see i can make are my starting and stopping times or adding break times. For example- i want to get a FP for TSM first thing at DHS, but my RM plan doestn have me do TSM until after 1pm. How can i fix that?

I always tell it to plan 3 or 4 schedules....it will give you a different schedule everytime you tell it to make my plan...i then look and compare and keep the one I like the best...So if you ask it to do it again it may have dumbo 1st...

I agree with everyone though that Dumbo and the Merry go Round need to be 1st...One Poster said just put in a break form 9 to 9:30...thats a good idea...you will actually proably get 2 rides in by 9:30 and about to start the 3rd

That is exactly what I do as well. However, don't forget to also grab a fastpass at the VERY VALUABLE 9:00 to 9:05 time frame. By doing so you'll get to grab a second FP usually in about 20 minutes, instead of waiting to regular 2 hours. I usually have 3 or 4 sets of fastpasses for my family by the 2 hour mark. Makes touring in the busy afternoon hours a snap as you walk past everyone in the stand-by lines.

I'm nervous that with RM it says to get a Fastpass later in the day and that at that time passes will be all gone does this happen how accurate is it with get fastpass time.

Admittedly, I sometimes alter my Ridemax plans on the fly just a bit. One of the things I usually change are the grabbing of FP's. To me, the FP is the single most important tool of a compulsive, addicted Disney Planner like myself. So, if I can't get Ridemax to schedule enough FP pickups in the AM to suit me, I do a little tweaking.

Having said that, I bet the FP's will not be gone at whatever time in whatever park, if Ridemax says they will be available.

I have to say, each and every time I have questioned Ridemax over the past 4 years, and I am not exaggerating when I say each and every time, it has proven my concerns to be pointless. I've heard a few people say that Ridemax made a mistake, personally, I question that, as it has been 100% accurate for me. I'm more inclined to believe the person inadvertently made the mistake, but that's just based on my own experience.

How do you tell it to make 3 or 4 plans??

It only supports morning EMHs at MK. It also does not support Sundays.

If you do decide to get it, wait till about 8 weeks from you departure date.
If you get it to soon, you dates won't be up and it will be like having a new toy with no batteries.

I have found this out the hard way. Not pleased at all! :headache:

Once you have selected all rides/events you want the hit "Make My Plan"

Wait let it generate a plan the repeat without changing any of you selections you can do that as many times as you like it will alter each plan slightly shifting rides and breaks that were unschedualed.

I'm curious Blueyed Girl, just how exactly do you expect Ridemax to know what the park hours will be at WDW before WDW announces the park hours?
:goodvibes
I know the people at Ridemax can work magic, but seriously, that doesn't mean they can actually read minds. Your expectations, while fittingly high, should at least be realistic.

I have copy & pasted the schedules into Excel, then saved them as PDFs then I open the PDFs in Photoshop and add maps etc....

I then print them out on 3 3/4 x 6 3/4 to fit in a day planner binder.

I have pages with the airline info, ME info, resort info, schedule at a glance, park hours, crowd calendar/best days, ADRs, touring plans, menus, DDP snacks, photopass locations, firework schedule, live entertainment schedule 7 weather forecast.

I am making 2 of these, one to use and a back up to defeat Murphy.

My husband and our entire family feel I'm the worlds biggest Disney planning freak, but :worship:I'm not worthy! :worship:

I had this exact question...so i asked Ridemax Mark here is his response...

answer....

Unless BTMRR has some sort of technical problem that causes the FP return time to be later than it otherwise would, I do believe this should work OK.

IMO, you've chosen an AMAZING week to visit WDW. I still remember one year going to the MK the week before Thanksgiving and seeing the posted standby wait for Space Mountain at just 5-10 minutes -- and this was in the afternoon!

So, I guess I would be almost surprised if the FP return window at BTMRR on a Tuesday the week before Thanksgiving extended out much more than 45 minutes or so.

Of course, having said that, things CAN go wrong, so you may want to see if on your actual visit you can gather your FP's at a faster rate than shown on the plan. If you ARE able to do this, it would give you some insurance against FP's not being available at 5:30.

I hope this helps!

Mark Winters

do you guys think we should put up some RideMax FAQs on the first thread? If anyone wants to post some suggested FAQs, then I will cut and paste them and edit the first post. --Katie

This is a great Idea. Some thoughts would be Childswap plan, Why there's not sunday, can I have it on more than one computer, that's a start I'm sure others have more Ideas.

I can answer two of the questions -- (1) They don't do Sunday because it's a small family operation and Sunday is their day off. (2) You can have it on two computers for personal use only--email Mark and he'll give you instructions.

The day i'm looking at doesn't have the american idol show at a choice just the american idol finale .... does that just mean that they don't know the show times yet?
