Ridemax Question

I've used Ridemax a few times. I prefer to print out the itinerary ahead of time and bring it with me. Ridemax doesn't have an Android or iPhone app, but you can login through their regular website on your phone. But I don't want to hassle with looking up the next ride every couple of minutes and draining my phone battery down to nothing...especially since my phone doubles as our camera!

I usually print out 3 different itineraries...
  1. the 1st one is my "everything goes as planned" itinerary - in other words, we all wake up on time and get to the main gate when we planned to.
  2. the 2nd one is my "we woke up a little bit late" plan - For example, we slept in by 30 minutes or an hour.
  3. the 3rd one is my "everything went to he** in a hand basket" plan - If we couldn't get to the main gate until a couple of hours after we originally wanted to.
Then when we get there, I just toss the other 2 that I don't need. It doesn't waste much paper if you print it double-sided, so you only have 3 pieces of paper instead of 6 or more.

I'm really anal retentive about this stuff, though. So what I'll do is on my #1 printed plan, I will also jot down the times of the shows that we are interested in seeing. Or times of parades & fireworks. Then when we ARE at the parks, I only use my phone for Mousewait, as a camera, and to find DH if he's wandered off into a store to shop. :)

How much time to you allot for TS meal for lunch?

So you can use your smartphone to generate a new plan? I'll have data on my iPhone and if I need to fiddle with things on the fly, I like to know there are options. I am hoping to avoid bringing my laptop on this trip.
Yes - that's correct

It sort of depends on where you're eating your TS meal. You can add a break in the Ridemax plan for a specific time at a specific restaurant or just in a specific "land." For example, if you're eating at Blue Bayou, maybe add some extra time. 75 minutes, for example, compared to Carnation Cafe...maybe 60 minutes.

New ridemax question here: we're currently stuck in traffic outside of Flagstaff, and are less than 48 hrs from our DLR visit!!! Since I'm sitting here with nothing to do, I logged on to tinker with some ridemax itineraries, and it hit me: our group is pretty diverse.

My 6 yr old is SO stoked to finally be tall enough for Splash Mountain and Star Tours, but my 4 and 3 yr olds aren't big enough yet, so how do I plug in everything to accommodate our whole crew? To make sure we don't miss rides for littlest and our finally tall enough guy?

I also have a kid who absolutely cannot handle the haunted mansion, and another who loves it (as do DH and I). Can ridemax be used when groups have to be split up for some rides? How would you handle that?

I just wanted to jump in and say that sadly, I was super super disappointed with Touring Plans. It relies WAY too much on "projections" and crowd sourcing, and we found it to be all but useless while we were there. People would update wait times maybe once, in the morning, so wait times were way off. In terms of crowd calendars, it had the Saturday we were there at a 5, and it was much more like an 8 or 9.

I'm not sure I would've had much use with Ridemax given the flexibility we wanted, but I can say Touring Plans isn't really worth the money!

Are you talking about wait times in the Lines app being way off or did you have an actual touring plan that was off? The reason I ask is because the plans are based on historical wait times.

I never used any touring plan until our first trip to WDW...we used Touring Plans. and it worked great! So I thought I'd give Touring Plans a try for DLR, even though I'm a DLR vet. As it turned out, the touring plan we used was very close to how I normally plan a visit anyway! the only time it was a little off was when we went the first weekend in October in 2013. It was a spur of the moment-get-in-the-car and go trip, but I did check anticipated crowd levels...about a 6. Well what we didn't know...and apparently Touring Plans didn't know either was that the first weekend in Oct in Anaheim is Anaheim Gay Pride weekend, plus many Arizona schools were on fall break....DLR was as crowded as I've ever seen it...probably an 8 or 9! But we still used the plan and it still worked fine.

I made a couple customized plans, and found right off the bat that they were very off, especially timing wise. For example, I entered dinner at 5:30 and it had us doing that last...when we were entering the park at 3 PM, with about 6 other steps.

So after that, I gave up on the custom plans and used it for crowd levels/wait times, but both were so incredibly off that I ended up using Mousewait instead.
