Purchased Ridemax last month. Trip doesn't start until 8/18. On Dl.com the aug dates are out for about half the month, so why can't I access Aug dates on Ridemax? Any tips/ advice for how to proceed would be helpful! Thanks!

Choose the same day of the week and run tests. RM is updating data and you always want to rerun your itineraries as close to your trip as possible to get the latest data. So anything you run now will be preliminary anyways even if they had all dates in August. Using a date in July works just as well.

I'm in the same situation (our travel dates are 08/01 through 08/04). I e-mailed Ridemax about it, and they said that they're working on it and should be having the August numbers up soon. They recommended that I do my preliminary planning with the most recent July numbers, using the weekdays of our travel dates, and then simply tweak and finalize it all, once I have access to their August data.

I've heard from other Disers that the current Ridemax is more accurate for predicting DL rather can CA (or whatever the current, proper acronym may be), due to the visitor excitement about cars land. I hope that their taking so long to get the August numbers put out means that they are working on just that.

It's a little too late for this, but I would recommend TouringPlans. I recently purchased it for my October trip, for 6.95, and they have the entire year out. So far, I think they are pretty excellent! Also, there Lines app is going to be so helpful, I can't wait to put it to use :goodvibes

I bought touring plans also. But then people on here started recommending Ridemax.

Ridemax is so superior to Touring Plans you won't believe it. Let us know what you think after comparing the two kjs1976 (remember, Ridemax has a money back gurantee if you don't like it - but you will).

I think the Ridemax guys are having to work very hard to figure out the DCA situation post Carsland. Typically, i think they would release their update very soon after Disney posts new hours, but it's taking longer than usual, I believe, due to Carsland.

What is the difference between Ridemax, Touring Plan over Mouse Wait (which is free)? Is it just that mousewait has times only and doesn't give you an actual plan?

not to hijack but a quick question.

I just bought ridemax, but before I download I have a question. Can I download the windows version and then the online also or is it either one. I would like to use on my computer and set up before we go but then want it available via my phone while I am there.

cemeb4dk, you can use either or both, the online version or the download version. I know everyone likes to access info via phone or mobile, but the download version contains a lot more information.

gacsmom, as far as I know, Mouse Wait is only a wait time projector for the length of time you wait for each ride, whereas Ridemax is a custom itenerary program that includes years of information and statistical data.

In my opinion, they are two different things, but I've never used Mouse Wait so I can't say for certain what it includes.

My issue with TouringPlans is simply based on inaccuracy of their touring plans and numerical attendance ratings, in my opinion. I don't have a problem with their Lines app. Some like TouringPlans, it has a loyal following at WDW especially, but I found it to be just as inaccurate at WDW as it is at DL.

I've been accused of working for Ridemax, so I try not to sound like too much of a fanboy, but it's just such a great product, especially for DL first-timers, I can't help but recommend it.

Just checked and saw that the Ridemax dates for part of August (until the 18th) are out.
:flower3: Have fun planning!

Thanks for the update! Getting ready for a garage sale now so will have to put the planning on hold until this winds...boo for that but hopefully yea for making more spending money!

I have been using both ridemax and touring plans and their wait times are so different. This is for Wednesday at DL..... Ridemax has at 8:03 for Peter pan a wait of 3 min, touring plans has the wait for 21 min??? Who is right?

Their attendance forecasts are inaccurate? Ugh I was really banking on twos and threes for my October trip

As for my two cents. . .

I am a HUGE Touring Plans fan. :goodvibes I am confident they have saved me hours at WDW and Universal/IoA in Orlando.

I have not used them at DLR. I'll find out this fall when I go. I agree though, from what I have picked up on these boards, TP doesn't seem to have the following on the West Coast. I can only guess as to why.

Nonetheless, I will be using TP (and maybe Ridemax?) when I go this fall.

I'll also be watching this thread for any more information.

Anyone else trouble with the RideMax Web App? I created plans for both parks but they can't seem to get pass the "waiting for server" stage.

RM just created a DCA plan for me and by the way the calendar is now up through Aug 18!

No problems here. I just just created plans for both Disneyland and California Adventure for early August without problems. Maybe you hit a busy time?

Probably RM as Wednesday is not an MM or EMH day - just an APEE day which are not drawing crowds this summer.

It is because TP has not taken the time to learn the idiosyncracies of DLR and they often put out park crowd predictions that are hopelessly uninformed. DLR has issues such as AP blockouts which significantly swing crowds - and TP does not understand this.

I have heard they hired someone to focus on DLR and if so that should help them improve things.

I do however like their Lines app for the iPhone and use it religiously.
