Hey Guys & Girls,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Is it really possible to use a touring plan with a 1yo, 3yo, 7yo, 10yo, my sister, mom, dad, a couple cousins, and my wife? Sounds like it would so easy to get off the plan. I can see using the touring plan as rough outline, but not truly following the plan exactly. Also is the ridemax data really that good? I'm going to disneyland and staying in the BWPPI in mid june and I am trying to cut down on wait times. We will be there at park opening as suggested. I've always thought about getting a better plan of doing disneyland then the old monkey see, monkey do routine. But this time i'm bringing such a big group I dunno if it's worth it to bother with all the planning since we'll proably deviate from the plan anyway.

Thanks,
Matt

Well, with a large group it will probably be easy to get diverted from your plan but if you let everyone know up front that if they follow the plan they'll have less wait time then maybe they'll go along easier. I have used Ridemax before and it is pretty accurate so if you're really concerned with cutting down wait times then it would probably be worth a try. Besides, it's only $15, so compared with the amount of money you're probably spending on your trip it's really not much!!

There are 8 of us going in November - ages, 55, 55, 37, 37, 27, 17, 16, & 5.

It's plain to see that we're not going to have the same interests. My daughter and her husband will want to take their 5yo on rides and to shows that won't interest the teens and older son. They'll probably take off and do their own thing a lot of the time.

Grandma & Grandpa want to take things a little leisurely this time...we want to see and do things that we've never been able to do before. (1st time without any youngsters to worry about)

I plan on printing out dozens of Ridemax itineraries before we leave home. Some with all of us together, some for the 5yo, some for the teens and some for us old folks.

I've created a list of all the rides and attractions for both parks and during our pre-vacation family meeting in October, each one of us are going to check off what is most important to us. Our 17yo son has already said he wants to go on Pirates at least 10 times over the 5 days at the parks! I want to go on Soarin' at least 5 times!

I'll break up the daily schedules in Ridemax to reflect our breaks back at the hotel with the morning hours seeing us do most of the rides. Now that I've worked with Ridemax a bit, I am seeing patterns of when the best times are to do which rides, and and when to get Fastpasses for them as well. As much as I'm playing around with it, I just may have all our itineraries memorized before we leave! :rotfl:
