So just got back from an extended Disney trip. I am posting this in news and rumors since this is more news then a trip report. I am basically just covering the upkeep and other stuff that people seem to talk about. Let me go ahead and say that the place is not falling apart compared to the news posted by many boards. In fact the parks looked great.

Wednesday was arrival day at about 1 in the morning. Yea I left late. I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the first time and was impressed. The service was great and breakfast at Bomas was AMAZING. The entire resort was clean and they upgraded me from pool view to Savannah view when my AC didn’t work. No one at the resort was rude or disrespectful even late at night.

Thursday was Epcot day and with FP booked the evening before, I was ready to go. The day was basically spent relaxing and enjoying the day. Amazingly FP+ helped me to better relax on the trip. I had time to kill between FP so it allowed me to relax and lounge. Lunch at Seasons was fantastic as always, and let me say that I went out of my way to find something wrong during my trip. So something bad would have been spotted throughout the trip. Living with the Land was in decent condition. Some of the AA’s were not working properly which was a bummer. Ellen was in sad condition. The middle set of cars were non working and many of the Dinos had little to no movement. Test Track was in good condition as the bugs have finally been worked out of the ride. My band worked fine with the car design. I didn’t ride anything else in Future World but did go do the ride in Norway. The ride was in REALLY good condition and all the effects were working including the wave machine by the oil rig. The park overall was clean and cast members were always nice and quick to respond. The new Future World colors are so sad. Like really they look worse in person.

Friday evening was Magic Kingdom. The park was clean and the hub wasn’t that bad passing through. Yet let it be known that the hub needs to be expanded. So don’t complain about losing some water. That place gets way to crowded and that’s not safe. Space Mountain was in good codition and the outside has been cleaned recently. Buzz Lightyear was in good condition as everything worked fine. Splash Mountain looked GREAT and even the jumping fountains were working with no broken AA’s. Thunder Mountain was good and everything worked. Winnie the Pooh is in need of updating and that’s all I will say. Little Mermaid is good now that the little bugs have been worked out. New Fantasyland as a whole is wonderful at night and looks great with the walls down. I mean it looks great all down to the details.

Saturday was Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Animal Kingdom first. Bugs Life was in decent condition yet the water effect didn’t work….for anyone. Many people were complaining. So good thing it is going down. The rapids were good and thank God for FP. Didn’t get to wet which is a plus. The safari was REALLY nice as the animals were ALL out except the lions. Maybe the heat? Dinosaur was in pretty good condition as some new smoke effects have been added to the ride. All the Dinos were working good too. Everest was ok except on the main hill the coaster stopped. We were near the top and I was at the back. It stops rolls back about 5 ft and then jerks as the brake catches it. It then moves again a few feet and repeats the action. Needless to say I was freaked. The rest of the ride consisted of me holding on to my bar tightly. The wheels also squeaked really bad on the drop. Hollywood Studios looked great at night with hardly anyone there. The last hour is the best hour in my book. Great Movie Ride was in the best condition I had seen in a long time with EVERYTHING working. Tower of Terror did not have their sign lit up but the blue lights made it look better. So they could keep the lights off for all I care. This ride was in good condition as well except a section of star field was missing on the far right elevators. So there you go.

Now I noticed that the rumors have been flying about Epcot getting new stuff. Well when I was there, there was a group of 4 or 5 men walking through Epcot. Def executives. They stopped at Energy first as I was leaving the body pavilion. They were talking and pointing at the building and taking notes. They then moved to the seas. (I was not stalking….promise) They stayed and went inside for a short time before moving to Imagination where they stayed a LONG time. They were walking around and in the building including EO. I eventually left after about 25 minutes. So is Mr. Tom out and about planning things? Who knows?

I was glad to see they finally painted the blue walls in the South Seas room on IASW. I don't know if they ran out of paint or what, but it only took them 2 years to finish that room.

The Wall on Pirates of the Caribbean is in dire need of painting. It is the blue wall behind the big ship and extra lights only shown how bad the paint looked. Its hard to notice with the lights off thankfully but I don't know why they had those lights on.

Well I would expect splash to excellent because they just did a refurb on that. I've heard some mixed things on buzz tho some say it needs help others say it's okay. I'll be there in July and I hope everything is working well and looks good.

Yea I was expecting Splash to look good as well for the same reason. Overall I was greatly impressed by the parks. They were clean. hey were not falling apart and even the monorails have seen some minor cleaning on the inside. Although the outside could use some washing. The worst ride the entire trip was by far energy. The Dino's hardly moved and everything kept stopping and having issues. Very sad.

I don't remember the last time I was on that attraction so I wouldn't expect it to be great they really need to do something with it.

I was on splash about 2 years ago and brought a friend for their first time with me. It was in such horrible shape I was embarresed about the attraction. They didn't notice, but I was appalled.

Just went in April and splash looked amazing. A few fountains in the laughing place weren't working....but everything else was working great. I think they updated some of the speakers because the sound was just as clear!

One ride is troubling me on that april trip. Haunted Mansion. I rode it 4 times on my 3 day trip...and 2 of the 4 times the mirror effect at the end wasn't working. And when its not working its just some ghosts bobbing in the air. Not a very good band aid when it isn't working properly. But 50% of the time I rode it did this...just a bit troubling.
