Hello everyone! We lease in 1 week for a WHOLE WEEK at DW!! :) My husband and I are taking our 4 year old (almost 5) triplets to magic kingdom. They want to try 7 dwarves mine train. They are tall and all more than 40 inches. THe seating is only 2 per row. None of them want to sit alone (and I don't want them to - and Disney probably won't allow it). Can rider swap be used in this case? I imagine I could ride with Triplet A while my husband waits with Triplets B and C. Then my husband swaps and rides with Triplet B and I wait with Triplet A and C. Then we swap again and I ride with Triplet C and husband waits. Is that allowed? If not, any suggestions on how to work the logistics? I can't work it out. I have same question for many other rides with only 2 by 2 seating. Even non scary ones like tomorrowland speedway, etc. Thanks in advance!!!

Could you put two kids together and then sit right behind them? Then you would get to enjoy their reactions and you could all go together.

Could you bring another adult with you? Or even a teenage helper? That would make it easy for every two seat attraction you go on, and you'd have lots more time to do stuff instead of going on the same ride 3 times in a row.

I imagine they will let you do rider switch. Unless you bring another person over the age of 14, I do t see a way around it. Not the end of the world. It takes more time, but everything takes more time with multiples (I’m a mom of twins). We have an older child too and had to do rider switch for many years. My twins are just old enough now to ride alone and it’s such fun to watch them together. Bonus is that now I get to ride with dh again. Very romantic!

Not allowed. Disney is very strict about this. No one under seven can ride without a guardian, 14 or older.

This and Barnstormer will be the only rides where it's an issue.

Even if Disney would allow two 4 yearolds together they aren't willing to do it. They would be too scared. They are wanting to go but only with mommy or daddy. with them. I assume we could do rider swap at least 1 time to get 2 triplets on the ride but I'm not sure they will let us swap again to get the 3rd triplet on the ride.

I'm sure they will accommodate you if you all have a FP for the ride. It'll just be time consuming to do the ride three times. :-)

Thank you all! I'm feeling hopeful that the cast members will allow it. We aren't really taking any more seats than we would if we rode all together (with one empty seat since we are an odd numbered group). It does take more time but that is why we plan 5 days in the parks. Everything takes more time with 4 year-old triplets along for the ride LOL! We've had to adjust our expectations for years now. We will be taking our time and soaking up the ambiance.

They will allowed, is the only way to do ride with all 3. I once travel with my 2 kids, 5 and 6 at a time, and we ride most coasters, I was seated with one and the other will be seated with another park guest, I notice the cast member will pair my 6 year old with another young girl old enough to be her companion, never felt uncomfortable and I was always in the seat behind them. It was the only way for me to do it.

I usually go without DH, with our twins. (Results in same problem OP has: 1 more kid than adult.)

When they were under age 7 I would keep an eye out for a family near me in line with 2 parents and 1 kid (or a group of 3 adults, or a solo adult). I'd ask them, then the CM, if its ok we go as a group of 6 (or 4 if a solo) - i.e., one of the 'extra' adults rode behind his kid/spouse with 1 of my sons. Sometimes there would be a group of 3 people, or solo, near me in line: I'd ask if willing to ride with DS and they always said yes. (It helps that at least at 7DMT the CMs will make solos ride with a stranger. So I guess riding with my kid was a better offer than a random stranger.)

I did -and still do - this at RNR and EE, as only 1 DS likes to ride those and I won't. I always found someone willing to be his partner. (DS is very shy so it helps to 'meet' his ride partner while waiting in line anyway.)

Works for me - I much prefer to ride all together than do child swap.

I have seen this for this ride before where there was someone with a 3 little kids the other 2 was about 5 and then a younger one mom sat with the younger one and then the 2 older ones sat right in front of mom. one parent might have to ride alone or one girl might have to ride with a stranger ( I know CM have asked a parents if their child could ride with me the CM also asked me if this was ok this was fine with me and the parent the parent was right behind me) the mom had 2 small kids and was at DW alone.

Why did you quote me on this? I think you quoted the wrong post?

On some attractions they do not allow empty seats (unless you want to wait a ride cycle) and 7DMT is one that fills up every seat, each time. After the FP merge, they have an odd number/even number split queue so they can fill in quickly and efficiently.

NO 7DMT does not fill every set every time anymore

Before after the FP and standby merged there were 2 lines and even line and odd line. now they are just one line ( as of last time I was there) so if there is an odd number of guest and no odd numbers around then you will be alone. I did 7DMT about 5 or so times in my December trips I was with 2 other people ( so 3 all together) and then alone for another trip and I sat alone all but 1 time

I would explain at the ride and let them tell you how to handle. The plus for 7DMT is the load/unload are right side by side. I have seen families wait at the exit and do a swap so it might be that they will just handle it that way for you. Or they may chose the rider swap pass for you. The decision you have to make is if you make FP+ for it or wait in Standby line.

The way I see it would be to have everyone (or at least 2 adults and 2 kids) have FPs. Adult 1 and kid 1 use their FPs, as well as get a rider swap. Adult 2 and kid 2 use their FPs, no Rider swap. Then Adult 1/2 and kid 3 use the Rider swap.

We were allowed to do this in September. My kids were 3, 3, 5, and 7. They let the 5 and 7 year old ride together as long as they were in the same car as one of us adults. Barnstormer only has one row per car, so my husband had to ride it three times in a row with each young kid. But Mine Train has two rows per car so we were fine. We did this two days in September.

That’s great. I guess given the two row mine car, they consider that riding together. So in the Op’s Case, one parent could ride with the triplets and one parent could ride as single rider, so long as the kids were okay with that. She may have mentioned upthread that they were not. Regardless, that simplifies being outnumbered by kids quite a bit.

Exactly. You are considered to be with them when you are on the ride. You don't have to be sitting right next to them.
