Are there any ride/attraction strategies that are particular to one ride/attraction? Anything that is useful to know when approaching the ride? Our family of 8 will be at Seaworld in January and span a big age group so tips for all types will be useful.

If any of your group want to do Kraken or Journey to Atlantis, you should go there first (Kraken first) since there are no express passes or fastpasses and the lines grow throughout the day. If any in your party don't want to do this, they should go to the Dolphin Cove (in the Key West area) since the dolphins are very friendly first thing in the morning.

After you have Kraken and Atlantis out of the way, look at the show schedule and be sure not to miss Blue Horizons or Believe. The only other lines you might encounter are at the Arctic simulator (which in my opinion isn't worth the wait; you can usually skip the simulator and go right to the area with the polar bears and belugas). If you are really interested in the simulator, I guess I would do that after Kraken and Atlantis.

if you want to ride Wild Acrtic, do it when a Believe show is scheduled. after the show, the attraction standby time doubles easily.
