Tavelling with the little monkey who will be 18months :scared1:

Is there any ride restrictions for:-
Toy story mania
Buzz lighyyear
Tea cups

Universal
Cat In the hat
And any other childrens rides :thumbsup2

It's been a while since I was there with a toddler :cutie:

Your 18mth old will be able to ride anything without a height restriction - so the 3 you mentioned are fine.

i'm not sure i would take an 18 month old on the tea cups or buzz lightyear or toy story mania..

buzz and TSM are very loud....a child that young isn't really going to follow what's going on and the noise might disturb them..

we once saw a baby about that age SCREAMING in philharmagic..
the mother kept grabbing the baby's head and aiming it towards the screen...
but the baby wasn't interested and it was just too loud for him....
and he SCREAMED....actually SHRIEKED the entire time...
until about a minute before the end, when she finally got up and took the baby out (to a round of applause from everyone else around her)..

the all ears site refers to this issue.

now that i think about it, there was a woman sitting near us at Finding Nemo, the musical with a child this age....
the child started to shriek about 5 minutes into the show....it just wasn't interesting to a child that young...
the mother didn't take him out until a CM finally came to her and told her she had to leave...

Ds 18 months LOVED Toy Story Mania... he wouldn't wear the glasses but thought it was amazing anyway! He also loved Mickeys Philharmagic - again with no glasses and we shielded him from the most interactive bits (non visual). Only thing he really didn't like was Peter Pan. We didn't take him on Snow White either. He loved Dumbo, the carrousel and triceratops spin as well as It's a small world. The Playhouse Disney show and Festival of the Lion King were also very well received.

sounds like a fun boy!!!

every child is different!! :goodvibes

i'm trying to remember back to that age - i know that my kids were terrified of the characters at that age (not to mention santa )
brer bear really scared DS at that age...just too big for him...

I wouldn't take him into the shows like philamagic, tough to be a bug.

I will see what he is like behaviour wise near the time :rotfl2::rotfl2:

you never know - you might have the kid who loves everything...
DD was fearless when it came to rides....DS on the other hand wasn't....
though many years later, they've reversed roles.. :)

LOL yes he's quite a lively boy! And yes you're totally right, they are all different... :goodvibes

Ds was scared of the characters for about 2 days, and we just spent time lurking near them at a distance for a while, then took him up to them, telling them that he was very shy, and they then pretended to be shy too... and we'd play this little hiding game with them. His attitude towards them, changed all of a sudden and he just started running up to them, kissing them, throwing his autograph book at them... it was a lot of fun!

The only thing you can do, is take it a day at a time, and see what is enjoyed and what isn't! Good luck :)
