My mom just heard about 2 rides at Epcot that we have never done. I don't know their names but, they are located in Norway and Mexico. Can anyone please tell me what they are? What do they do and are they fun? Thanks a lot!!!! :wave2:

They are both boat rides. The one in Norway is called Maelstorm - I lke it better than the one in Mexico, but it's a very short ride. ElRio Del Tiempo is the one in Mexico, it's like a travelog for Mexico mixed with a little of It's A Small World.

Hi! I like them both...will be on them in 3 days!!!! Anyway, Mexico's is an easy-going boat ride similar to Small World....good for getting out of the heat. Norways is called the Maelstrom (sp?) and it's a boat ride as well, but it's a tiny bit more exciting with VERY small drop and some trolls.

Try them, they're fun for what they are!

the Maelstrom is the better ride. It is well done except for the attempt to make you watch a movie about Norway at the end.

I love these two as well!!!! The mexico ride is very cute and a nice way to get out of the florida sun. The movie before the ride in Norway is long...but it sets up the ride very nicely. Enjoy on your next trip! :earsgirl:

The last time I was there the movie in Norway was after the ride, have they changed this?

I always enjoy these rides. And I love the film at the end of Norway's Maelstrom ride. Of course, I have always had a special place in my heart for Skandinavia! :flower:

One cool thing about the Mexico ride is that at one point of the ride, you will go by the table-service restaurant. You can see all of the diners right there by the water, with the Mexico village right behind them. Too cool! :flower:

AHHH I LOVE LOVE LOVE these rides! I got so used to skipping the movie at the end of Maelstrom that when I got stuck in the movie I developed a new appreciation for it. El Rio de Tempo is super, and if you get a chance stop and eat at the restaurant. It's very yummy. Dont listen to people who tell you its not they are wrong. I am right...I am ALWAYS right! (esp when it comes to food!)

Glad to hear this! I am getting PS for the restaurant on my next trip! :flower:

Hi :flower:

We only rode the Maelstrom, but we really enjoyed it. Although we agree with some ride reviews about it, that it would be alot better if it was longer. Also, if you don't want to watch the movie, you don't have to mow ppl down like some WDW guidebooks suggest to get in the group of ppl exiting the theater. :p The CM waits until there is a large group of ppl and clearly anounces that those who want to skip the theater can take the noted exits.
