I know a little while ago Disneyland was testing out a system where you could text a number for ride photos and then buy them and have them sent to you via email. I was wondering if anyone has gone lately and noticed if they are still doing this. I'm hoping so, we're going at the beginning of December and that is definitely a lot more affordable.

They had some sort of mobile phone connected photo set up in testing while we were there in mid-September. I didn't look any further into it because, as an international guest, I didn't have mobile phone access. It was cheap though! I can't remember which rides I saw it at.

I haven't seen any since mid-September on Splash Mountain. Not sure what other rides they were testing them on, but haven't seen it lately.

They tested many different prices, I think i saw 5 dollars to free. It may have even started higher than 5 dollars. After the test was over they stopped offering the option. Maybe it will reappear soon though!

I hope it reappears before Dec 6-7! We will only be there 2 days and I don't think the PP+ will be worth it for 2 days....but would love to get some ride photos

They have a photo package just for rides. I think it was $40, we did it last year and got all the ride photos that way.

Where do you get the ride photo package? I haven't heard of this before. Is it for your entire trip?

I looked online and couldn't find the rides only package. We'll be in the parks tonight and I'll ask about it. It was Feb 2013 when we used it before.

The ride photo packages (Attractions+) can be purchased at the shops attached to the attractions that offer the photos (Space, Splash, RSR, Screamin' and Tower). It's $49.95 I believe (horrible me, some of those are my stores and I can't remember exactly) +tax. It covers any and all image from those attractions as long as the photo is actually available (things happen) over a 14 day period of time. The photos do have to be added at the attraction (PhotoPass is not involved).

Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Thanks Belle Ella...I know we purchased that package in the past, but couldn't find it online.

We didn't end up going on any rides with photos, so I didn't have a chance to confirm that they still offered it.

This is our first time going to DLR but we've been to Disneyworld. We've used both the Photopass+ and the Memory Makers package. At Disneyland they have a pre-purchase for the Photopass+ CD. Does that include the ride photos or do you have to spend the extra $44.00 for the ride photos too?

The photopass site does not have much info on the ride only package.

Photopass+ will include the ride photos, you don't need to purchase the ride only package in addition to Photopass+.

Just as PP mentioned, PhotoPass+ will include all ride photos as well - just make sure if you go with that option that you remember to add the ride photos at their location :)

Ok great. So it's like the Photopass+ at Disneyworld. When you ride a ride you take your Photopass+ card to the photo desk and have them add the photo number to your card. That worked well at WDW but the new Magic Band thing is even easier since they read your band automatically and the photo but I can deal with going to the desk.

Thanks

When we were there in late August, they were e-mailing the photos from Splash for free (we had PP+, so maybe they were only emailing them to people with PP+?) and texting your photo with option to purchase at Screamin'. I can't remember how much it was for the screamin' photo, but I think it was $3 or $4. They sent a text with a link to view the photo and then you could order it from there. I didn't bother ordering it, since we got it anyway with PP+.

That was a promotion that was done for those two locations only that lasted about a week back towards the end of the summer. No word yet if those offers will ever be permanent but they are no longer offered. The current options for getting your attraction photos are PP+, Attractions+, or the regular purchase options of a digital download for $14.95, a digital download + a print (8x10 or 5x7 + 4 wallets) for $18.95, or 2 prints + a digital download for $24.95 I believe.

The Attractions+ and the 2 prints/digital download is the only pricing I'm not currently 100% on.
