When we went to DL last Nov. I used the coolest program (ride max) and never waited in line at all. You plugged in all your info, day, time of park arrival, rides you wanted to experience, and ride max took all this into consideration plus the location of the ride. Anyway, it is now available for WDW with some restrictions (only MK EMH), etc. Very good and fun program, or at least the DL version was. I plan to buy it when I get a little closer to my trip. You are supposed to wait until a couple of weeks out.

I'm thinking about it. DW will probably think I'm nuts, but I like to have a little advance planning, even if only for reference!

Our trip's getting close now, and DW is fed up of me talking florida :teeth:

Last night:
DW - "Why haven't we sat down and gone over our disney stuff?"

Me - "Because last time i mentioned it you rolled your eyes into the back of your head and told me to shut the *ahem* up if i wanted to still be married by the time we go to disney"

DW - "oh yeah so i did. well i want to talk about it now."

Me - "Well I don't."

DW - :faint: "someone get the camera, it's a miracle. inconveniently timed, but a miracle nonetheless"

:rotfl2:

I think there's been a whole topic on the subject (huh?) but I can't find it.

In short, there are a couple of different fastpass networks at the parks, and knowing which two or three attractions are separate from the rest allows you to get more than one fastpass at any one time.

Anyone know the site that explains this in great detail?

Just curious about 1 thing....on a sample plan (I know it is for DL) they show the amount of ride time for Astro Orbiter to be 2 mins, that is way off. DH & DS rode it at WDW, and I waited below. From the time they left on the elevator, to the time they rode, and then came back down it was closer to 10-11 mins.

Are they just talking about the actual time "on the ride"? That doesn't really factor in the amount of time it takes to get on & off though so it doesn't seem completely accurate.

Not trying to pick on them, seems like a cool idea.

See the disconnnected Fast Pass post. (And Disney has been rapidly fixing that trick LOL!)

The trick was that some fast pass locations seemed not to be on the main computer and didn't know you already had a fast pass. I heard a rumor that Kali River Rapids was one of those "disconnnected" so I tried the trick in June, Got my Safari FP and headed to Kali. It wouldn't give me a fast pass until the window opened so it knew and is now conneceted.

I think there are more "disconnected" in DL then WDW.

I actually just signed up for this last night! I didn't know what to expect. This is a program that you download. Word to the wise -- my security picked up spyware. That's easily ignored though. Also, please be aware that this is a no-frill program. I loved Tour Guide Mike for my first few trips, but this is not like Tour Guide Mike -- there are no photos and no commentary or advice.

All of that said, it's pretty cool. You select the park and date and times that you want. They may not have all dates loaded yet, so keep checking. In my case, they didn't have Magic Kingdom for the day I wanted to go yet. So, I chose Epcot Future World arriving at 12 noon and getting in line for my last ride at 9. You can also figure your dinner/lunch breaks into the touring plan as well. You also have the option of choosing more walking/less standing in line (ie, running from HISTA to TT to get a fast pass, then going back across for Turtle Talk) or more standing/less walking (assuming it goes in some kind of order, didn't try this yet). You select individual attractions and it plugs them into its program and prepares the plan you requested. The Epcot Future World one made sense...The MGM one has us with 5 hours of free time in the middle of the afternoon, but I only put rides, and no shows in.

I'm looking forward to playing with this more. For a family that's Disney experts, I'd say take this over Tour Guide Mike. For a family getting into the magic for the first time, I'd do both, or do this with Unofficial Guide or something.

I'll be at WDW Aug 26-Aug 31 for Free Dining (Yay!), so I'll let you guys know how it works when I get back.

I loooooved this program for Disneyland visits.

One thing I don't remember... does it take shows into account at all? Does he have the show schedule programmed into it?

Also, if you book DL thru AAA you do get unlimited FP's. We went from one attraction to the other, gathered FP's and then did the non FP attractions. We went back later with our FP's and did everything else. We did DL and CA in 2 1/2 days this way. We did most of what was there and some things like Soarin' 3 times. I wish AAA would negotiate this perk with WDW!

Is this worse/better/same than the UG touring plans?

If I'm going to spend another $20....is this worse/better/same than TourGuideMike?

I guess what I'm saying is that I'd like to hear more about why its better to get me to buy.

I subscribe to all three, or I will before my trip. Ride max lets you pick your rides, your arrival times at the parks, your meal times, your max. time to wait in line, etc. and then adjusts its suggestions to your specific info. The other two are more generic in their suggestions I think. I like them all, but I was glad to see Ride Max getting into the WDW business. It is a lot of fun too.
